Default Stamping on napkins?

My Grandpa is turning 90 and we are having a big celebration. My family has asked if I can stamp on napkins. I have the equipment to make my own stamp but does anyone have any advice/instructions for stamping on napkins? What type of ink works best? Is there a specific napkin that works best?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Tammy

The only advice I have is to use StazOn ink. It won't smear when people use them. There are lots of great colors.

I stamped on napkins using Palette Ink. I like it because it doesn't stink like Staz-On AND because it's a hybrid ink, it dries quickly like a dye ink but is permanent like a...permanent ink!

When I stamped the napkins for my son's graduation open house, I tries sever different inks on the actual napkins that I would be using. Check to see how they hold up to moisture etc. Don't want someone wiping their face and having an ink smear!

Me too! But not everyone @ the 90 year old's party should probably be "huffing" Staz-On like we crafters do!

I have embossed on napkins which I bought at one of the Party supply stores. I think that they were 2 ply and I used versamark with gold emossing powder.

Default napkins

I have made them using a kaleidoscope pad and they have been just fine. I get many compliments on them.

If you look at artystamper's Sunday gallery, you see she's created a stamped napkin. You should check it out; it's really neat. You might want to pm her and ask for the specifics.

I've used them with classic Stampin Up ink and never had a problem. We used them serving cookies and punch. I never noticed any smearing.

I stamped on napkins that I bought from Party City for Thanksgiving last year. I just used SU classic inks and had no problems at all. Easy to use and no problems/complaints when they were used for dinner. Everyone was suitably impressed!!

Did you mean fabric napkins? You can stamp on them with Craft (pigment) ink. Just be sure to heat set by using a heat gun - or easier yet, toss them in the dryer for a few minutes! (Let the ink set for about 24 hours first).
