How about a box of dominoes that are vanilla colored to make pins out of. (Stamp and color the front of )
Oh I remember doing this and well I still have a whole box of them in my "stash".
How about smashing bottle caps? I remember when I was demo and the team I belonged to we used to do stamp shows and stamp camps as a group. We would use them in our demos. I can remember going to the local establishment and asking the bartenders to save them for me. I would bring them home and wash them up and we would all use them. Oh do I remember not liking them too.
Mulberry paper please come back. I know I'm not in the "in crowd", but I LOVED Mulberry paper. Ugh.
my friend keeps borrowing my crop-a-dile to make holes in her belts
..btw. I still use background stamps for various fun techniques and embossing powder too :

I still have most of the stuff the OP mentioned. Hardly ever use it, but am reluctant to give it up. The lesson for me is to not buy too much of the trendy stuff. I have THOUSANDS of brads and eyelets!
I love all those old things. Background stamps and roller stamps are great. I took all my roller stamps apart and use them flat. I have every "country looking" stamp set that Stampin up sold. some things are just fun to look at. What goes around comes around in fasion and stamping.
Thanks Faith, I just googled putting metal stencils through the big shot. I had no idea. Good to know.
Shirl
Better be sure you won't ever want to use those brass stencils with embossing paste again, Shirl. I put my Peace on Earth Dreamweaver stencil through and it warped it just like the Big Shot does to the cutting plates. I've not been able to get the stencil flat again, and unless it's flat, there's no way to make a clean image with embossing paste again.
Maybe there are Big Shot machines that don't warp things? I would hate to think I spent $100 on a dud!

Thought I read that the new Big Shot Plus is supposed to warp the cutting plates less. That, plus the slightly larger size makes me want it bad, even though I don't need it
Stitched dies are still very big!! Fun Stamping Journey has several sets in their new 2015 catalog and I own a few at the moment, but plan on getting more.
Sewing on cards. I've always hated that trend. I no longer has a sewing machine and don't want another. If the sewing is to keep something in, like a shaker card, I'll use my old Food Saver to seal the plastic.
There is a difference between "stitched" dies and "Pierced" dies. Maybe it is the pierced dies that have died out.
You'll have to pry my stitched dies (and card creator dies) from my cold dead fingers!
I have dozens of Spellbinder Shape-abilities D-Lites that family members have bought me over a few years and I have YET to use them, the flowers came in 2 kinds in a set, Bluebells & Lily of the Valley, Love Locket, Aster & Poppy, Filigree Vase, etc. Actually, I have an extra Flourish Die still in its packaging if anyone wants it. I'd rather give it away than have it pegged to my corkboard.

Flattened bottle tops? I'm curious: what did people do with them?
BTW I love stickers too
I make magnets for craft fairs. Glass magnets with a design showing through appeals to women more but these flattened bottle caps are great to make more teen or guy bottlecap magnets with. Sports teams logos in the center, military logos in the center, whatever "thing" is hot right now in the center (like Frozen images). You can buy them in black, white, silver, gold, or bright, fun colors.
I've never used them on a card or scrapbook page before though. Just for bottlecap jewelry or magnets.
I'm not sure I saw it mentioned but I think Pearl Ex isn't used on cards much anymore but I bet it's still popular in Mixed Media, maybe? I never really used it but that stuff is cool!
I have SOOOO many things I bought and never use....decorative straight pins, eyelets, brads, those mini mini clothespins (that are too small to even hardly grip to open and never stay together), library clips, mini paper clips, shaped mini paper clips, grommets, micro beads (except to make beaded pens), clear plastic round cups to make "treat" cards or whatever people did with them, the tearing tool, the distresser tool...the list goes on and on and on. I bought it all before I found "my style".
But I think everyone should use what THEY love and make things that they love and are proud of. It would be boring if we were all the same and making the same stuff.

I would be happy to give your flourish die a home.
I love the stitched dies! I could not believe it when SU discontinued Top Note, I've used mine hundreds of times and will not ever let it go!

Ok so I will say it. I don't understand what you mean. What does that have to do with the graveyard? Am I just not seeing it?
Ohhhh I get it. Hmm never thought about that. See how I am.
How about those spirals? Didn't understand how to use them and wasn't sure why I would need them. BUT. . . I do have drawer full of them. I really enjoy this thread. You see I must be stuck in the "old times" as I have been using quite of few things again. I look at it this way, if I enjoy using them then I will use them.

Can you believe I didn't like the top note die at first? Unbelievable! Was so surprised they discontinued it. I use it a lot on the inside of a card instead of cutting a piece with my trimmer. I don't have tons of dies and I use T Note a lot!
