You first either stamp your image on tissue paper and gently color in if you wish...or you can print on your printer on tissue paper say a photo..
now you wrap your tissue where you want it to be...wrap a larger piece of wax paper around...make sure you have enough in the back to make a "handle" for you to hold...use a heat gun to melt the wax paper and the candle together...you will see the image change color.when that happens move the gun...keep it moving and not to close...best to practice on some junk candles first until you get the hang of it.
hope I'm clearer than mud?
To stamp on the candle I use Candle Painting medium by DecoArt. I found it at Michaels, mix with acrylic paint. I find this easier than the tissue paper.
Candle painting medium? I never knew there was something like that. Will have to give it a try. Do you mean you paint the stamp and then stamp directly onto the candle.
1.... A good tutorial right here on Splitcoast Resources shows how to stamp the image on tissue paper and then heat it into the candle.
2.... DIY has a tutorial showing how to slightly melt the surface of the candle and press a stamps into the warm wax. [I think that another instruction said that you can use a hair dryer instead of a heat gun for this method. Maybe the heat gun melts it too much?]
