Mango Melody is a newer color and one I rather liked. Pacific Point was my go-to when they retired Brilliant Blue. Now what do I use for patriotic blue color?

Blueberry Bushel is returning. I think it will fit the bill for you
I was surprised to see So Saffron go. Happy to see Pear Pizzaz go, my last 2 packs had a drastically different shade than previous ones and they were horribly mottled.

Blueberry Bushel is returning. I actually used my old Brilliant Blue ink pad as a stand-in for Blueberry Bushel and re-inked it with a Blueberry Bushel re-inker.

Are those two colors close? My Mom used SU. When she passed, most of her ink pads came to live at my house. Both sisters who stamp already owned their own SU ink pads, so to my house they came. Mom had both Blueberry Bushel in ink pad, refill, marker, and cardstock. She had Btrilliant Blue also in ink pad and possibly ink refill. So, I am just curious. She usually didn’t purchase a new color if her older color was close.
What no burgundy or dark wine color? Guess I'll keep using the old colors. As someone said a while ago, I have enough supplies to last me for many years to come. (and then I won't care. lol)

Side-by-side there is enough of a difference to see right away, so someone bothered by that would prefer to have both colors. "Close enough" has always been my motto, though, in papercrafting which is why I'm ok with using Brilliant Blue as a substitute. My re-inker for that color has run out, though, which is why I'll be refilling that pad with Blueberry Bushel going forward.

I was very disappointed Bermuda Bay, Pacific Point, and Mango Melody are being discontinued. Three of my favorite colors. I am excited to see Blueberry Bushel return. I would have loved to see Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent added. Merry Merlot and Mango Melody are relatively new colors - I am surprised they are being discontinued already. The new yellow color does not really appeal to me, but I really like to see all the colors in person before making a final decision. I am intrigued by some of the new in-colors.
I LOVE the new In Colors!!! I decorate my home in those colors because of their earthy coziness. It is disappointing that Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent will be going, but I've got re-inkers and paper so it'll be ok.....for awhile.
It’s just a constant cat and mouse chase game, right? We chase after what we can’t reach anymore…..then we play the same game the next year. Didn’t learn a thing from the chase last year, right? Lol. I’m done playing the game. Trust me. LOVE LOVE LOVE their products and have lots of it but I’m done playing the games. It’s exhausting and 99% of the people I send the cards to have absolutely no clue if it’s a fraction of a shade different from X, Y or Z. Using what I have and won’t be part of the chase.

I agree with you! That's why I keep all my ink pads and use what's close enough. It's overwhelming and exhausting attempting to "keep up and keep current". Stamping is what it's about.
On the other hand, it can be thrilling to get a new color or two with which to play. As in any area of life, the new does rejuvenate, stimulate, and revive the old (think of the posts on here complaining that Michaels and Joann never change their papercrafting sections).
This is the best of both worlds - one can continue to enjoy the colors one has or get a few that delight and inspire. It doesn't have to be all or nothing.

I haven't seen the new colors yet, but I am thrilled that Blueberry Bushel is returning!
I was surprised that So Saffron is retiring. I need to be sure I get a reinker if I don't already have it. Other than that, I don't have to have any of the retiring products - which is a good thing for my wallet!

I thought of you when I saw the Blueberry Bushel coming back! ;)
There is a new lovely lighter yellow, IMO much prettier than Saffron
I always look forward to seeing the color comparisons, new to old. For example, the new Bubble Bath compared to the old Pink Pirouette; the new Azure Afternoon compared to the old Ballet Blue; the new Pecan Pie compared to the old Close to Cocoa or Fawn something. . . .

Anyone seen any comparisons yet?
I think Rachel Tessman (Stamp Your Art Out) is planning to do one on her live this coming Thursday, April 6.

I like the new colors! Looking forward to Rachel's comparison video today. Sad to see the Stamparatus go, especially for future new stampers. It is THE best stamp positioner out there. Mine will never leave my craft room. lol
Bermuda Bay cardstock is gone from the store. I am looking for an alternate at another site. Right now, I pulled up Simon Says Stamp as they sell several brands. They have a color called Island Blue: https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/produ...9?currency=USD
Do you think it is close? I didn't realize how much I liked the color till they retired it and the cardstock sold out quickly. It was there at 8 AM when I woke up and gone at 11 AM when I looked again.
by MY monitor no, does not look like bermuda bay to me
Thank you. They do still have the assortment, which is how I usually shop. Sometimes when trying to find a substitute across products it can be difficult.
Bazzill 7-7141- Candy Necklace is nearly a spot on match to SU Bermuda Bay. The Joann store sold it when I bought a few sheets a few years ago. It provided an opportunity to play with the color before committing. It’s a decent weight cardstock for layering, die cuts, etc. and maybe even a card base, depending on one’s preference.

I would have preferred Cherry Cobbler to go away and Merry Merlot to stay.

I made a fast order with my sister. I did manage to order the Brights assortment with a few sheets of Bermuda Bay and the Blends. I am really liking this color and I see no other ones on the market except for the one mentioned with Bazill CS. I have seen the Bermuda advertised on eBay for a lot more than it really costed. But everything seems to be like that when it gets retired.
I love soft suede, but I had a feeling it was going to go so I ordered a reinker and I have two packs of cardstock. I love evening evergreen and soft succulent and would have loved for them to stay.
I'm not going to order any of the new in colors. I'm sick and tired of colors leaving so quickly so I'll stick with the main colors as they should be around for 5 years at least.
Kathy, sometimes I like the new colors, so I usually purchase the water based markers. I can color a stamp with those markers and watercolor. Last year, I purchased the refills and ink cubes with no ink and made my own. When Fresh Freesia comes into the main color family, I may go ahead and purchase the full size ink pad, but I have done well with the mini. It is frustrating how fast the color refresh happened. I do know it hasn't been that many years since I purchased a set of water based markers that were an addition to the color families.
Several years ago, I decided that I didn't have to have all the colors. I had noticed that there were some colors I didn't care for, nor did I use. Like Lisa, I bought markers and used to color stamps to transfer the ink, but now I buy uninked cubes and reinkers of only the colors I really like and think I will use. I still have several full size ink pads, but I try not to buy them instead use the cubes & reinkers method as they take up less real estate in my craft room.

I bought soft succulent reinker and made a mini ink pad with the spots but I loved that color so much I ended up buying the bigger pad. And then of course it gets retired. I used to buy the markers, but I rarely use them. So I quit buying them. At the beginning, I usually buy the assorted pack of cardstock of the new in colors. Then I at least get a good look at them in real life. I had several of the new pads that are coming back. Pretty peacock, lost lagoon, lemon lime twist, Misty moonlight. I even have cardstock and refills for those. I think I have to buy 8 ink pads to have the regular colors. I just bought a pack of fresh freesia at last card class so the next class I will get the ink pad and refill. I will get the rest of the ink pads and refills then in June's class.
I look forward to seeing Rachel’s color comparisons. I like the way she includes colors from way back in SU history.
For those who use Facebook, Julie Davison did a color comparison live tonight which is now viewable as a video. She doesn’t have all the colors in SU history, but still fun to see the comparisons she does show.
