I posted this on the product forum also because I didn't know where it belonged. Sorry if you've already seen it.
I need to expand my sentiment collection. I'm not looking for the usual holiday or event type things. I am looking for quotes, sayings, things that are more general. I seek the profound, the inspirational (but not religious), the clever (but not ha ha funny), the interesting.
I often see one sentiment I love as part of a set, and don't want to have to buy the whole set for the sentiment.
Just wondering if there are companies that are especially good for this. Any suggestions would be welcome.
I collect just the type of sentiments you are talking about. I print them on my computer using what ever font suits best. Then cut it out, use corner punches or a nestibility. This saves a ton of money and time spent searching for the right quote on a stamp.
I've been doing just that so far, magnolia. But sometimes I want to stamp right on the cardstock and not glue on a sentiment.
By the way, loved the "dancing fish" technique on your blog! You mention you are going to try printing with real leaves. Do you know about the Nature Printing Society? Check them out. They're all about that kind of thing. I learned of them from an artist friend who does gyotaku, which is printing with actual fish.
I couldn't find exactly what I wanted either, and I love to stamp directly instead of print out (unless I only will use it ONE time), so I had some custom made. They came out in the fonts/sizes I wanted and are great. I already started a list for the next batch.
You can see on my blog where I had them made.

Thanks Rachelrose! Yes I know about the Nature Printing Society, there was an article about Fred Mullet in Somerset Studio several years ago and they were mentioned in it. I've done gyotaku many times when I was teaching. The fish market would get me all kinds of cool looking fish, then dissected the fish as part of a science lesson. We also marbled paper and made handmade paper.
Paper and Such has a couple of sentiment/quote sets that are $5 Paper and Such Store
If you have any specific quotes you want you could email (I think there's a link on the site), pm hobbywoman here or like their FB page (Paper and Such) and post the quotes with request- you never know!
Serendipity I was not and I took a look and they have some great stuff!

Thanks for the link to Serendipity. I never looked at them before, and there's lots of unusual (and beautiful and literary) sentiments.
