I was wondering if you could simply place the storage caddy on a round plastic lazy susan if you would like it to spin. (I think you can even get these at the dollar store). I don't own a caddy yet, so I don't know how large the base is. Does anyone who owns one know if this would work? I have a nice wooden lazy susan that I picked up at a rummage sale.
I am brand new here. I am so excited to be making my first post. I feel so official now:-)
Lots of love to all of you. You seem like you're a part of my family.
Which "caddy" are you referring to? If it's the SU ink pad caddy, mine rotates on it's own. It's a little stiff but it does have a rotating base on it...
Sorry about that. I am referring to the ink pad storage unit that sells for 59.95. I have heard so much discussion about this, and I still have unanswered questions.
1. Would it fit on a lazy susan?
2. Does it hold both the old and the new style stamp pads?
3. If I do spin it on a lazy susan, would the pads fly out?
4. Fellowes appears to be out of theirs. Has anyone found an inexpensive replacement similar to the fellowes one?
I apologize if I've overwhelmed you with all these question. Just having a hard time making a decision.
Thanks so much for any input you can offer.
It does spin, not as free as a lazy susan, but well enough to grab pads as you need them. From what SU told me it isn't supposed to spin too fast or loose - to keep the pads in place. I don't actually think they would 'fly' out!!
You could probably put the lazy susan under it, if you want the loose spin action. The base is 25 inches around using my sewing measure tape.
It holds both size pads. I have all new pads in mine, and my girlfriend has both old and new in hers. The new pads kinda lock in place, the older style pad are a little looser.
I am really happy with mine.

It would fit on a lazy susan. I'm not so sure about using a cheap $1 plastic one, this thing is heavy. I actually had a granite one (!) from my kitchen and am using that.
The caution is that you COULD spin it greatly and pads might fly out. If you don't have little ones that'll spin it, then I wouldn't worry about it. I like mine on the lazy susan. Except sometimes when I go to put an inkpad back, it tries to turn away on me!!!!
The caddy DOES turn by itself, it just doesn't SPIN.
The old style pads do fit, but not snugly.
Anyway, I'm quite happy with mine, it's nice to have the inkpads and refills together.

I have mine on an inexpensive lazy susan that one of my downline brought over for me. It works great, the stamp pads don't fly out. I don't know about the old style stamp pads, though.
Another tip, another gal in my downline placed a sticker at the top (just above the ink pad itself, but on the side of the tray...if that makes sense) and she has all the colors of that family listed on the sticker so she knows where each ink pad goes when she's done with it.
