This is what my cats are currently doing!! Storm likes to hide behind the laundry basket and sleep for hours. I guess it's a "safe" place to be. I put some soft blankets down for her.
Awwwww, snoozing kitty pics! (((heart)))
Was phone-chatting with DS earlier as they are driving back home from cruise port in New Orleans. I advised him that since both of my kids & their families are driving back to Texas today/tomorrow, and my DH drove out of state today for the rest of the weekend, that if CATasrophe strikes, I'll be the one to "get it all"! (Must understand our humor ... ;) ) His first comment back was, "So remember to take good care of Tony & Bella!" (their 2 kitties) Not sure why the Grands area always telling me that I need a dog ... 'cuz my heart is really a purr-lovers heart.
My demo always asks if she should send the box with my order! Of course. It doesn't matter the size. He tries to squeeze into it anyway. Congrats on the new kitty!
My kitty has been on a diet for a few weeks now. He is a big cat, not fat, just long and heavy. It was getting hard for me to pick him up so I decided it was time for him to slim down!
Oh no! I have one kitty that just loves when I fix chicken in the slow cooker. She can eat a ton of chicken (on top of eating her cat food), but she is little. She runs it all off!
That thought process seems to run rampant with cats! LOL
He follows me into the craft room and naps on the rug now so at least I get my chair! By if I turn out the lights and want to shut the door he practically has to be carried out. I think he knows in will be going back in so why waste the energy of getting up! LOL
Thanks for asking. What I didn't mention (but you could probably tell from the photo) new kitten is a Maine Coon. He was 6 months old yesterday so I weighed him - 6kg/13lbs! Here he is at 5 months old hinting ever so subtly that our sofa is soon going to be inadequate ;)
He is a total disaster in the hobby room (which I share with DH). He usually lasts a maximum of 5 minutes before he gets into my stamping or DH's model railway. The great thing about the hobby room is its door, which closes.....I work from home sometimes and have taken to setting my work computer up in the hobby room. When I emerge from time to time to make a cup of tea, he's usually lying in the corridor outside slumped against the wall and watching with reproachful eyes ("Mum, how can you do this to me?"). I"m enjoying the crazy kitten days but also look forward to when he's older and calmer and doesn't have to wreck everything just because he can. Maybe in 10 years or so......
I share craft room with DH as well. I love the door and the air conditioning. I try to keep it closed because I have come home to paper towels all over the floor and ribbon and pencils, etc. Don't count on age taming him. My cat is 7 years old and still being naughty!
We had a Maine Coon a number of years ago. He adopted us! It took us a little longer to figure it out! He was 30 pounds and his previous owner had him declawed. Who knows how long he had been on the streets. He acted more like a dog than a cat. He picked up the feline leukaemia before we adopted him. We gave him 2 really good years before he walked off into the sunset.

The two I have now are as different as night and day! The male is an orange tiger markings. His mother was a full seal point Siamese. So, he has the body build like a Siamese plus the voice....But, he is Orange. Very smart...comes when you call him. He'll be 9 years old this year. The other one is a female with white tummy and feet. The rest is a grey tiger marking. She can be a bully sometimes and a diva! She is a bit round in the middle. But we are working on it! She turned 3 years old this spring. Both of the are crashed on the couch at this moment!

He's beautiful!!!
Both my cats together (full grown) weigh 13 pounds!
Your so lucky, Lydia! I could carry them around. Mine is on a diet because he was pushing 20 lbs. and I had trouble lifting him! He's just so long bodied so I doubt he will get to much lighter, but if he wants picked up, some of that has to go! He sits outside the craft room door waiting for me to emerge. I will let him in to lay on the rug if he's good, but sometimes......;)
Last night DH said he was letting him in the bedroom and I should go back after bit to let him out. I went back later, DH was sleeping and there was a lump under the blankets on my side of the bed! LOL. Apparently the AC was a bit much for him!

Splotchy LOVES to be "lumpy" - he gets under the covers nearly daily. Maddie is black, so I think she absorbs heat better.
I don't have a door to my studio, so the little monkeys have free reign - and make numerous cameos in my videos and Facebook live events with my team I'm just the hired help here, really
Jet is black, named for football team, not for jet black color! LOL He's a tuxedo kitty, which I learned way after we adopted him. Never heard the term before that. I sometimes take him outside on a leash during the day, but never at night because I loose him in the dark....except when it snows! LOL
My kitty hid out in craft room the past few days because its more sound proof and he doesn't like fireworks! Funny, but there's scrap paper on the floor. I wonder what he was making? LOL
I've enjoyed reading about everyone's cats. I inherited two when my friend passed away (in November); never had pets prior. Yikes! When we first got them the plan was to only let them in certain rooms. Needless to say they have taken over the house and are allowed in all the rooms LOL. I'm still asking myself how this happened

hehehe....it happens because you don't actually "have" cats...they consent to you sharing their new space, what you formerly thought of as your house. And oh, pretty babies!
:p

OMG my Tiger is just like Simon the Cat. He wakes me up every morning! I get tons of kisses and his nose is so dang cold! He's the only one that does this. He doesn't stop until I'm up!!! I really wanted to sleep this morning!
Well.....We had both of them sleeping peacefully just a second ago. One on the floor and the other on the edge of the couch. In a split second...the one on the couch stretched too far and fell off the couch...which then scared the other one that was laying on the floor. Now they both want out side! So, DH is heading outside to give adult supervision!
