Ok...I know...I know..this is my second thread on this subject...but I have burning questions.
Are these good stamps??? Do you get a lot of Damn-its when your using them? (hope that term doesnt offend anyone...if it does I apologize! If there is a better term to use in the future let me know.)
My friends and I were just concerned because they are so reasonablly priced and most of our stampin supplies are so expensive.
They are made by Karen Foster, one of the bigger names in scrappin supplies. I have both the 1/8" and the 1/4" and I have nothing but good things to say about them. The rubber is removable (which some people do not like), but I love it, this way I can use a stamp that's not needed in the word to make a blank space. Just remove the rubber part and snap it together and stamp away.
I wouldn't complain about the price, just be happy they are so affordable
I haven't had any problems with mine yet. I really like that they only snap together one way so you don't inadvertantly (sp?) put a letter in upside down and you can't turn the "s" around the wrong way, etc.
The reason, I think, that they are reasonably priced is because the "handles" are made out of plastic, not wood. Also, if you are used to buying strictly wood mounted stamps, then they also might seen "cheaper" to you but if you are use to buying unmounted stamps, then I think they compare pretty well with those prices.
But, so far, so good. I really like them.
My almost 4 year old son is fascinated by them. I know that he wants to play with them because they look like legos of some sort. I'll have to keep these out of his sight! LOL!
Not sure why they are so cheap...they are great quality! I LOVE mine! I have used them on so many cards since I got them a couple of months ago.
I don't get a lot of mess-ups, or any actually!
ps...what you said didn't offend me personally, but maybe you could change it to "darn-its" in case there is a "no profanity" stipulation on the site (I am not sure if there is or not)
They are pretty cool! I just got them a week ago and haven't used them too much! They are worth the price to make you own wording for cards / scrapbook pages! Go for it and purchase them! I got the 1/4" casual alpha & numbers!

I'm curious now
Hi, just poking around while DS are sleeping, (I know I should be making cards! or cleaning:rolleyes: ) But this post caught my eye. I haven't even heard of these stamp sets. Are they only available on line or at scrapbooking stores? I would also like to see some cards made with these sets.
Thanks!
I received my snap stamps, that I ordered over the weekend, after reading that Mama K ordered them....I got the same, the Formal and the Casual in the 1/4 and 1/8 inch.
When saw the 1/8 stamps I immediately filled out the return slip as I could not imagine being able to manipulate such tiny little things...
But, I am now keeping them! Looked at the cards, and now love those little guys...
i just ordered some and got the casual and formal in the 1/8" and just the in the 1/4" i got just the casual. I think the 1/2" and the 1" are too big for what I would use them for, but I think they would be good for scrapbooking!

To stick to the theme of the thread, they are little and for whatever reason, very very inexpensive. Isn't it refreshing to find something really cool that cheap? Hope they are made well, Karen Foster is a good name.
I'm convinced.. I've got to order these abc stamps! I cannot justify getting two different sizes, so if you were to pick just the 1/8 or 1/4 which would you pick? Why? Thanks for your input!

I think the concept is to use a larger letter and then a smaller letter, then the larger again, in one word, to create sort of an offbeat look. That is why many order two sizes.
If I were to order only one size, it would be the 1/4. But, the 1/8 is tiny and very cute...
First, they are mounted on recycled plastic. Injection moulded at that!
Much cheaper than milling wood!
They are sold in a package, no fancy case and they have to find a way to compete with the larger companies! They are not printing out books to sell them, they are hanging in your local LSS!
Once they get us all hooked? No idea what they will do next, but they got my *bucks* good this time! LOL
Love them!
Karen

I already bought two sets of these today. I think I wrote earlier and said I broke and bought them because the 1/4" fit in the word window. My question just so I'm not missing anything is, Is it just the alphabet and numbers, or do they have shapes. I don't want to miss anything, LOL!!
Cindy
Well, I just ordered the 1/8 and 1/4 in both casual and formal... And I dug thru the two foot stack of mail on my desk and found my JoAnn's flyer and found a code for free shipping... Here it is if someone else cracks and has to order them also...

I caved and bought the 1/8" casual last night at my LSS store with a 40% coupon ($4.20) -- they're so dang cute!! Now I have to go back and get them some friends!

Anyway, Let me know your thoughts.
Oh, man, you're killin' me! Speaking, of course, as one who experienced a number of those (D-I's) during my last stamping session. Altho, it wasn't with the stamps you are referring to--it didn't have anything to do with the stamps and everything to do with getting a prototype to turn out they way I wanted.
Thanks for the chuckle!
