I have been slightly, no highly, amused while cruising through threads (non-SS threads). It seems that several people have changed their profile "location" information. This one almost made me spit soda all over my monitor...
For her location, Pinkhedgehog wrote - I'm in the Secret Sister Protection Program.
I'm lovin' it!!

ROTFLMBO!!! With all of us changing our locations, we'll be able to narrow down the secret sister participants by 167 complete strangers
By the way, I just set up a yahoo account just to send emails to my secret sis. I may or may not be sending an email soon. She, or He will just have to wait and see if they get an email. Or will they? Maybe I'm just making all of this up to throw everyone off. Am I even participating in the secret sister swap? Is my name really Jenny? Do I look like Mutley in person? Is that really ink all over my fingers? Do I know how late it is? Does it matter how late it is, I could be living on the other side of the world?

Now I'm really laughing... I went back on this thread and the other to look to see who has changed their locations and who hasn't. There are some that even if they change their locations, we are going to know who they are based on the postmark on the envelope. I won't rat out who they are just in case they want to go back and edit their previous posts.

This is fun already!
Have a wonderful week everyone!
Why you little snoop, you! ROFL! I am SUCH a snoop! I'm so glad Robin has the other half of the list. You should change your avatar from Mutley to Snoopy!
BTW - we have 170 ladies participating in the SS swap! I hope everyone goes HOG WILD! - not in a Harley sort of way, but in a stampin' kind of way!

Also, are we going to have a thank you thread up and running so that we can see if our letters were received? I asked this is another thread so I don't know if it was answered or not yet.
I've sent a PM to Jenn to get her input on this question and the question about a specific gallery. I'll let you know when I hear from Jenn.

Yep, I snoop. as a matter of fact, my last thing I'm doing before I shut down the computer for now is go and check out your gallery. And then I'll check out everyone else later. I wanna know what I'm up against here.
I was wondering if you two wonderful people Christine and Robin would send me your private snail mails so I can thank you with a special treat. You deserve a big thank you but I want to do more than that.
Thanks
When I moved last year I needed to ship, and mail some items and documents. I wanted to make sure that if they got lost they did not return to my old address, so what I did was put my new address as the return address. So say my new address was
111 Main Street
New York, NY 11111
I also put that as the return address. So you can put your SS address as the return address as well. Hope that makes sense.
Cris
An even better idea! Thanks for sharing!

This sounds like so much fun!! Am I too late to join in on this one??
Hi Wilma,
We have swapped names of all 170 players. HOWEVER, I will put your name down, and if a few more people PM me, I'll add you ladies to the swap. I honestly don't want to keep it open on-going because it was very time consuming to get the 170 done. But I will gladly add a few more names!
Hugs,
Christine

You certainly do not need to do that for me! I appreciate the thought! I will PM you because you asked, but please don't feel like you "have to" do anything! The excitement here has been fun!!

You won't find anything impressive in my gallery!! I'm such a "newbie!" You aren't up against anything here, OH COMPETITIVE SNOOPY ONE!
You're crackin' me up, Jenny!

I am already having a blast. Not only have I been planning for my secret sis, but it has me inspired to RAK others. Today I have had so much fun getting things ready to mail to unsuspecting targets. This has been a great mood lifter for the "why can't spring come any faster crummies."

I actually did this and had a problem at the post office. Because of 9-11, they suspect packages that have the same mailing address and return address. I don't know if they check envelopes as closely, but the post office had a fit and I had to change it. So, now I use a girlfriend's address as a return address when I use SASEs.
my packages are all ready to go.just waiting until the beginning of March to send 1 of them out to my SS.

But I haven't heard from the person who I've been assigned to. :(
Thanks ladies for organizing this!!!!
First, you're welcome!
Second, remember that we don't "officially" start until March 1st. That doesn't mean that we can't start before then!
I believe that everyone who signed up is excited to be a part of this group! Hang in there! You'll hear something soon, I'm sure! And no, I'm not the one who has your name! LOL
Hugs,
Christine

This may have already been brought up - but I went to the Post Office today and they said that if you mail a package over 1 lb. without a return address, they will not deliver it. Apparently it's considered a security risk. So - just a head's up! Don't mail anything overly large without a return address, or it will go into a dead letter file.
They also said they are not supposed to mail letters without a return address, but they don't stop them - just things over 1 lb.

I know what you mean. When I read a post I wonder is she my ss. I have to admit I having been looking for my ss on here just to see if she says anything. Oh well. I hope to keep her guessing until it is all done. I mean I will leave hints here and there but nothing too revealing . I like teasing that is all part of the fun. Have a good one and especially to my ss who maybe enjoying her piece and quiet for the time being

Today I got my first card from my secret sister!!! How fun was that! And when I emailed my ss, she got my first package, too! I was so inspired making cards today to send to my own sisters and friends, that I shared with my ss. I only wish we could post them all on SCS so we could all share.
What kind of goodies are you planning on sending? I am so excited! I hope my sis is just as excited. It's been a LONG time since I've received anything good in the mail. I'm in the RAK group and no matter how many I send out, I don't seem to get many, if any, in return. Oh well, I love to send so this will be a good outlet for me.
I have set up a new email account but how do I email my SS? I dont know her email address and can only contact her through here, I didnt really want to have to log me out, log my secret ID in and then message her like that. Any suggestions?
has any special gallery been put together for our SS swap?... I would love to post what I receive ~ so everyone will know how sweet my secret sis is!!!

I am working on it with Jenn. She is working with Daven. I'll let you all know when I hear something!

Several people did not provide email info. You SS was one of them. I can't help you out with that! Sorry!

Should we refrain from setting up special SS-SCS accounts? I don't want to burden our servers!
Advice?
This is just my opinion ... but I don't think we should set up other ID's in SCS to PM our SS. Especially since this is only for 3 months. Granted this may go on after May... again just my opinion....
I would like to know how to set up a seperate e-mail for ss also. Can someone please tell me how to do this.

Just be sure to not use your real name in the set-up of the account. Create a bogus name like "Secret" for your first name and "Sister" for your last name. Does that make sense?

Yea - it does. I didn't even think of that, and now I'm pretty sure my sis knows who I am! :( I feel pretty stupid, but hopefully she'll still feel special! :?
