I live in the southwestern area of Virginia and I drive every year to the show in Greenville, SC. I wonder if I will do it this year, considering gas prices. It used to be an Auntie Amy show, but is now.... something else, can't remember what the name is now. I went to a show in the Raleigh-Durham area two years ago and it was truly awful. I spent more money and had more fun going to the Enchanted Cottage, which is nearby.
I have found a good array of choices. All I have attended have been good and, like anything, I can make it as much fun as I want to make it. They are getting smaller but still have choices. Remember to support your local store, too, if there are any in your area. New ideas come from independent stores and to some extent shows.
I have attended the Original Rubber Stamp Convention in Carson CA, Heirloom in a couple of locations and Rubber Stamp and Scrapbook Expo. I liked them all.
There is a Heirloom Rubber Stamp, scrapbook and Papercrafts show in Rockford, Ill. June 20 and 21st. Does anyone know anything about it. I am thinking about going.
I've been to the Expo, they have it here in CO every fall. It's gotten bigger the last couple of years. They usually have a list of vendors on their site. I like it a lot more than RM Rubber Hi, but then I love just about any show!
Just get a hold of Bonnie at Stampin' When You Can, she's the one that organizes the shows that are in Denver. This next expo is in May I think and the other one in Sept.

Yeah, Bonnie is the one that ran Rocky Mtn Rubber High. Don't really know what happened with it. When I firsy started stamping I went to one & it was great. There were several years that were excellent, then a couple of years ago it really went downhill. So many vendors didn't go anymore (waaaa! Paper Cut!) that they couldn't even get 3 aisles of vendors - they were just randomly sprinkled in the booths. And the people! All of a sudden it was a hall full of the rudest people! I honestly don't know why it was so bad that year, but I literally came home with bruises from people shoving me, stepping on me and crowding me - and it's not like I'm some fragile little flower!
Anyhow, I swore I'd never go back. Funny how the next time I looked at shows around here Bonnie was promoting a stamp & scrap show. Still no vendors that I want to see really badly, but I might head over there just to see if it's gotten a better vibe. ;)
Heh. That's my excuse & I'm sticking to it!

I know what you mean because last year's was a disappointment. That's what I keep saying to myself, but every year I do go back to see if it's gotten any better. I guess we'll see won't we.
I went to Allentown this past weekend and it was loads of fun. Spent more than I would have liked to. Heirloom does that one and another one in York PA in the fall.
I live in valley forge Pa Where do you hear about these shows (in advance I mean!) I could drive to Allentown or Pennsauken easily. Do these have classes or just a vendor show with make and takes? Even York isn't too far for a day.
SueG.......I find out about them in the various craft magazines I purchase. Also, since you now know the name of 2 of the sponsors of the shows, do a search for those names to get a schedule. I know you can get on an e-mail list for one of them to receive notices of shows.
I wish there were more. Now that I went to one, I would like to find others within driving distance. I would have considered going to Allentown, but since it was only the following weekend after the Pennsauken one, it was kinda close in time. I needed time to digest from the Pennsauken show.
May 17-18th, 2008 is the Stamping by the Sea in Ocean City, Md. It has always been fun with a wide variety of vendors. It is in it's 8th year. Get more info at www.seasidestampin.com

Try the site "stampingtoseeyou.com" she generally has a schedule of what shows she's attending even though she lives here in Colorado.
I go to both the Heirloom (NOVI MI) and the Art Scrap tour (Southfield MI)
I love them both. Heirloom is BIGGER but Art Scrap has INKY ANTICS and
STAMPER ANON.. It is a small show but well worth going to.
Heirloom is a big show with LOTS of vendors. The vendors change from year to year. I also go the the BIG scrapbook show too. I love all the conventions for paper arts because I ALWAYS find things I love that I wouldn't have known about if I hadn't gone.
