yw : ) I love that it coordinates with the new square scallop punch. Also very kewl that UPS donated this set to all convention goers. That's about 12 grand right there that will go to RMHC. Wish we all coulda got one though.

Did you have to be present at general session on Sat to get this free set or will they be upsing to us? My flight left in the early afternoon so I couldn't stay and was wondering what happened in general session?

They just handed them out so there's no way to track who got theirs and who didn't...unfortunately, I think you'll be out of luck :( It was such an exciting moment when we saw the UPS truck...definitely one of the highlights!!!!

Yes! Definately one of the highlights!!! So if you were not able stay, unfortuneately you won't get one. I'm so sorry - I know that sucks.
I think your out of luck too. I'm glad we stayed 10 minutes longer than we were going too. It was so fun with the UPS truck and Mr. Brown. The confetti shooting up in the room everywere was awsome!
What a great idea! I think I'll do that and add extra cards to make for out local RMH.
Now this is a great idea! Using the set & punch for a camp or SAS should really increase sells. I think it would be great to have attendees each make an extra (or more) cards to donate.

If you click on the photo album beneath my signature, I have a photo of it at the end. It was the last thing that occurred at convention (receiving it free) so I have photos of the man in brown "delivering" them to Shelli, the confetti that came down when we heard the news, and the set. It's towards the end of my 500 photos, LOL!

As great as it was for those in attendance at Convention, I can't help but think how great it would have been for the Ronald McDonald houses to have gotten all the money that it cost to purchase those sets instead of the $2 per set that SU will donate. I guess if I were UPS, it was a good PR thing - assuming that the demonstrators and others who received it say that they got the set from UPS and not from SU, since UPS purchased all those sets. SU didn't give them out, UPS bought them to give out.

I am thinking that SU! will still donate the $2 per set that UPS bought for the demonstrators at convention. SU! donates a minimum of $100K per year to RMHC, plus the proceeds (sp?) from the stamp set sales. Just think of how many demonstrators will start off the new catalog year with that new stamp set in their hands! They are able to go home right away and start stamping with that set. I think that will translate into many sales, and therefore even more donations toward RMHC. I can't wait to get my hands on that set, and do my part for RMHC as well.

Well thats not news.....EVERYONE has said that UPS bought the stamp sets to give out to the 6000 demos at convention. Every blog I have read, has said UPS bought the sets to give to demos at convention. Are you staying a demo, or did you drop, since you never like ANYTHING SU! does. Just wondering...;)
Our group was wagering that the punch would be on backorder by Aug 12
LOL- ya, you're probably right!!
So, i did the numbers- 5800 Ronald McDonald house stamp sets at $17.95 each cost UPS $104,000+!!! And RMHC got $11,000+ of that money!!
That was the craziest part of convention for sure- awesome!!

In the past the rule has been that you must be present (as in, must be in the room at that moment) to receive the gift.
It wouldn't hurt to just check w/DS, though. You could send them an e-mail maybe w/your flight info and explain why you had to leave early. In the case of my group, there were 5 of us flying back to Phoenix and we had bought all our plane tickets even before you could register for convention. Flights kept going up in price and we just couldn't wait any longer. Plus, my upline/sidelines who had been to convention before were assuming all the general sessions would be in the morning since they have always been in the past. It is extremely unusual for any company to even have events at all in the afternoon of the last day of a conference (knowing that most people need to fly back).
Anyway, we were lucky that one in our group was staying until the next morning so we gave her all of our wristbands and she was able to get the extra sets for us. She got it OK'd by one of the SU employees there (Spencer I think - the one who did the presentation on technology I think).
So, I guess if I was in your situation I would at least ask. They've got to have leftover sets that were purchased by UPS because I'm sure there were many of us in this situation. And, although they don't HAVE to give you one since you weren't there, I would think they'd want you to have it rather than have you feel slighted because you had to catch your flight.
Im so sad I missed it!
This month marks my 10th yr as a demo, so Im trying real hard to go next year!
(Maybe if I have another garage sale like the one I just had...LOL)
Hi there. I emailed DS and complained. Unless I completely missed something General Session was in the morning when we registered. I planned my flight around not missing any of the general sessions. I was with about 6 other demos when I got a text from a gal I met at convention saying that they gave out the sets. Since SU made the change without letting us know I think that they should give it out. Perhaps we'd have to show our flight info to prove that we flew out earlier or something.

It is a bummer for those who left early, but thinking from the programming aspect of a meeting/convention etc. It makes sense to start the event with everyone together and end the event with everyone together. I hope they continue to do that. It would be anti climatic to have been in the make and takes or a smaller class and then just go home. I'll have to check the original print out from how it was posted, but I don't recall there being a change (I don't even know if I looked at that closely--I was excited and wanted to attend everything!).
I received this email this morning from DS and I have already called them.
