Default repurposing thinlit "envelopes"

I have just used magnetic sheets to put my thinlits into the stamp set cases that they came with in bundles. Now I have all those plastic "envelopes" that the thinlits came in. Has anyone found a way to repurpose them? If so, I would love to know about it, because I hate to throw out such nice holders.

I would also like to put my Nestabilities in boxes like the SU Polymer sets come in. Can I purchase empty boxes? They don't seem to be in the SU catalog. Is there another source?

Thank you to anyone who has any ideas on this.

I'm afraid I don't have an answer for your first question. I agree that they are nice sleeves, but I'm still using mine for the thinlits.

However, I can answer your second question. Yes, the cases are available to buy. There was a little oopsy when they printed the catalog, which is why you couldn't find them. Here's the wood-mount cases:
Full Wide Stamp Cases by Stampin' Up!

and the clear-mount cases:
Clear-Mount Stamp Cases by Stampin' Up!

(or you can just search "stamp cases").

Eyestitch, if you don't have any use for them, I'll take them. I'd be happy to pay you for postage. You can send me a PM.

I know people who use them to store extra die cut shapes in.

I haven't used them for this yet, but I plan to use them for little keepsakes in my Project Life albums. I'm playing catch up on the last several years but haven't gotten to anything that needs an envelope that size. But I've kept some for that purpose. I'll punch the holes in them where they need to be.

I cut my most used colors of paper down to quarter sheet size and store them in the envelopes. I have one for watercolor paper, one for white, one for vanilla, etc.

I use a few for the smaller scraps, especially with my white pieces that still work great for sentiments.

I would also take any you don’t want off your hands. I’d be willing to give you a dollar each plus postage of course.

I have some thinlits that could use a good storage envelope!

Default Use for Thinlet Envelope Plastic

Here are some of the ways I use plastic from packaging:

I have quite a stash of flat pieces I've saved, and they are so handy.

apparently the link I sent about the DVD cases I purchase didn't get in. From tapeonline.com the are clear cases item 14mm for rubber stamps no hub 88 cents each. I have purchased over 200 for my framelits and clear stamps...I buy vmagnetic vent covers cut them to size and adhere to the inside of the clear DVD case with large glue dots. Have had this system about two years. I use the plastic cases that came with the framelits as sheets for my stamp positioner. that way I can keep them with the stamp sets.

This is EXACTLY what I have done in the past month or so. I have adhered a magnetic sheet into my stamp cases with thei co-ordinating stamp set. (cuts down on storage space PLUS reminds me which sets have a matching framelits and also reminds me to actually use them) LOL

Before doing this, I had someone on here give me all of their empty envelopes so I could store my "non Stampin Up" dies into. (I just paid the postage) But now, I have taken them all out and I now store all my dies in empty Stampin Up cases on a magnetic sheet.

I posted a week or two ago that I was giving away my envelopes if anyone was interested and they just had to pay postage. Someone snatched them up real quick. LOL So if you don't know what to do with them, I'm sure there are plently of people on here who would love them. Pass them along.

Dear Maslex, I am having issues with getting my magnetic sheets to stick to the inside of my cases. I used my ATG tape to adhere it and it keeps popping loose. What's everyone using that works better?

Thank you so much for your input. As I read through these, I thought, "Duh." I will put my nestabilities on squares of magnetic sheet and slip them into my empty thinlit envelopes and see if that is a good re-purpose for the thinlit envleopes.

I had the same issues when I first started putting magnetic sheets in my cases. I was using liquid glue and that didn't do anything. So i went through my stash and found a roll of that red sticky tape the Stampin Up use to sell (not sure if they still do) and I've been using that. Works fine so far. HTH.
