Default Questions for those that have used vinyl to go UM

I went UM on many of my stamps using vinyl from HL. They recently didn't appear to want to stick so I wiped the block & stamp off with windex & they stuck again. So my first question is do they lose their ability to stick over time with regular vinyl. And secondly if I decide to use cling vinyl instead where can I purchase it cheaply?

I found a cling vinyl called See-D's at Roberts craft stores that had a permanent adhesive side and a cling side. I stamped the image on the cling side with Staz-on black before I stuck the stamp permanently to the vinyl. I think it was around $5-$6 for 4 smallish sheets.

Then the Roberts crafts by my house left this year...they might have it on their website.

Typically when vinyl loses its cling, it's because dust or other residue has built up on the surface (you usually can't see it, but the vinyl feels different). A quick wipe with rubbing alcohol (or, in your case, Windex) restores the stickiness because it removes the residue. As far as the difference between "cling" and "regular" vinyl, there are "regular" vinyls out there that qualify as "cling" but aren't marketed that way - you can get it much cheaper than the vinyl marketed as "cling" if you shop around (which it sounds like you're already doing).
