Questions about clear stamps Dose anyone know any companies that have vintage angels
Hello everyone
I have some Questions about clear stamps. Dose anyone know any companies that have vintage angels or elegant angels? For Christmas cards? I wanted these type angels for Christmas. And my stamp partner Dr. Sonja what clear stamps. I don't any names of companies the carry clear stamp with vintage angels or elegant angels? Can help me out names companies and the name of the stamp sets if, possible please! Thanks Linda
There’s a nice angel in the Power Poppy “Enchanted Branches” set (here) - you can use her as she is or stamp the cap and hook at the top to make her look like a hanging ornament. There are lots of other nativity elements in the set so I guess it depends on whether those appeal to you as to whether it might be a good set to have.
There’s also a set by Hero Arts (here at Frantic Stamper, I guess other people would have it in stock too, it was just the first place I found it).
I would list your question over in the in search of board-someone might have one they would sell....
I am afraid this is a tough one. The clear part is a stumbling block. I have wood myself and some red rubber. I see a ton of beautiful vintage but it is all wood.
I found this one at Walmart-sold out but you can ask to be told when it is back. I think Nellie's choice is a German wholesaler? Top Flight does not have them but Simon Says stamp carries. Unfortunately not the angel. But since they have a relationship...if you really it, maybe they would order it for you.
I tried ebay and etsy...etsy has a lot of angels but you would have look thru them. Simon, Top Flight, 123 stitch, Hobby Lobby, scrapbook.com..general searches...very little clear and none of it vintage. Sorry. Maybe someone else will see something.

I believe Nellie Snellen (Nellie’s Choice being a part of the Snellen line) is a Dutch company. Stamping seems a popular hobby in The Netherlands. They seems to have a pretty wide distribution both sides of the Pond so it could well be possible to track down the angel if it appeals.
Debbie, that angel is quite lovely. I have mixed feelings about digi stamps. Do you end up with a lot of fussy cutting? Maybe I need to rethink how to make a nice background for the printed image instead of die cutting and placing on designer paper.
If you're going to use it several times, making a mask is a good option, then you can sponge or stencil the background. Or colour the image with a medium which can stand up to a little sponging; some of the waxier colouring pencils almost act as a resist when you sponge with distress inks. Or you can just sponge lightly round the edges of the circle/square you cut with your image; if it's light around the edges you don't necessarily need to sponge colour right up to the image itself.

Dr. Sonja, I don't think I fussy cut the digis any more often than my stamps that don't have dies. Some digi artists draw with fussy cutting in mind and they are pretty simple to cut out. Others, like this one, not at all and I probably would not even try because fussy cutting does not rank high in my skill set. I tend to do one layer cards with my digis. As Sabrina already noted, I either mask then stamp a bg or in the case of the angel, I used copics to color around her. Obviously other media would work too. Here's a link to a card I did with that angel for a recent Fan Club (sorry, if you're not a Fan Club member you won't be able to see this): CT0621 Guardian Angel by DebbieinOC at Splitcoaststampers
What I do love about digis:
they are inexpensive (usually $2 - $5)
easy to store since they stay on the computer. You do need a "system" to organize them if you start to acquire a lot. I have mine organized by artist, but Jennifrann uses a system I have read about that I think is better at helping you locate a type of image (sorry I don't remember the name but could find it if you need it). I am just too lazy to reorganize (again).
if you get "transparent" stamps (png not jpeg) you can overlap the designs on paper and create scenes or bouquets or whatever.
you can resize the image to whatever you need.
Cons: No dies; not all the images are transparent; you do need some software to do your image manipulation (I use Word because I learned how to use clipart when I was working and it does everything I need except recolor the lines which is only a problem for sentiments) but there are many many free ones out there and there are lots of suggestions here on SCS and online.
Thanks I will say it help me to see things in color, to decide If I like or not... That angel is pretty. I don't if it help Dr. Sonja or not with problem? But, it helped me to see things in color. So, thanks for posted this Linda
