I've heard that there is going to be another special on the starter kit coming up. I've already heard about the current $85 one and am not impressed with that. I've heard that there will be another promo on the original starter kit but with some add-ons or something special.
I'm signing up to be a demo this month but I will definitely wait until the promo starts if there's going to be one.
i think it is GREAT for those fo us who already have been stamping for a while -- I mean OF COURSE I am getting all the in-colr pads and a multipack of paper and OF COURSE I can always use another pack of Whisper White. Add that all together and it is $50 (Plus shipping which you don't pay on the starter kit).. so put another $35 in and then I can place my first new catty order as a demo and get 30% off (since the first $150+ order gets an extra 10% off)
am I thrilled with the stamp set they are offering with the mini-kit? no, don't like it at all... but with all the other benefits, I can save it for a school raffle. Better beleive I will be signing on july 15th!
and the BEST part will be getting to go back to the DEMO side of Splitcoast!!!!! I have missed it there since I went inactive.
ScrappinDad: I think the new special will be wonderful.. lots of great product there!! As for any other special, i think the pp mentioned it..that's it right now. But, don't forget, with the regular start up kit, you can substitute and customize it to fit you.
That is unless of course, a demo is offering another special. ;) Some of us like to add on freebies for signing and such.. you just have to check.

You can swap out items from either the mini kit OR the regular starter kit (same price stamp set, stamp pad of a different color, etc.). You can't substitute the In-Color incentive pads/paper that come with the regular starter kit though.
No there are two kits. The $85 mini kit (described above plus all business materials including catalogs) OR the regular $199 kit (that has the addition of the In Color ink pads and assorted card stock--non substitutable)

The $85 kit defaults to the In Color items but you can substitute the colors if you want.
The $199 kit come with the extra In Color items. You can substitute the colors for the regular pads that come in the kit, but not the additional incentive items.

so on the $85 mini starter kit, i could swap out the stamp set to something I like better? Now THAT has me hook, line, and sinker!

I'm just wanting to make sure I am CRYSTAL CLEAR on this. Thank you all for the help so far.
So if I understand correctly, if I order the standard starter kit for $199 then in addition to what is standard in the kit I will get the full set of in-color ink pads plus a package of assorted in-color paper right? I will not get the extra stamp set that they are offering in the $85 kit and I will not have to pay any extra at all right?

Am I understanding or do I still need more help?
Don't ever worry about asking too many questions! It's always better to know as much ahead of time.
Yes, the larger $199 kit would come with the extra in color items with no additional money.
I'm excited! I think that's awesome that I'll get all the in-colors when I order my standard kit! Then I'll just have to get me the markers for them here soon!
Now I just have to make myself wait until the 15th to sign up!

So this means a person can choose any six colors he/she would like? Is that correct? And the same for the paper packs? And the stamp set can be any set at the $28.95 (or lower) price? If this is the case, I would think SU will have the attention of many would-be demos!
For All You Do stamp set $28.95
Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin' Pad $5.95
Melon Mambo Classic Stampin' Pad $5.95
Crushed Curry Classic Stampin' Pad $5.95
Dusty Durango Classic Stampin' Pad $5.95
Bermuda Bay Classic Stampin' Pad $5.95
Soft Suede Classic Stampin' Pad $5.95
Whisper White card stock (8-1/2" x 11") $7.50
In Color assorted card stock (8-1/2" x 11") $7.95
You can swap the colors of stamp pads, stamp set up to $28.95, whisper white cardstock for another neutral, and the assorted color cardstock for another assorted color if you want.
With the summer sign on special - I know the sampler kit doesnt' start until the 15th, but if you sign up with the starter kit do you get the In Color Add on automatically NOW? or do you need to wait until the 15th for that too?
Now the question is do I get the $85 kit which I can comfortably afford right now. Or do I somehow pinch together the extra $114 and get the bigger kit.
SHEESH decisions.

I would probably get the $85 kit to get started. Your first order over $150 within 45 days is 30% off, so you could get the additional items at a better discount!
Just make sure you don't sign up before July 15th for the extra addon to the starter kit.
I signed up yesterday thinking the regular kit and add on were for the whole month of July and I was not eligible. This created a little disappointment and a little extra work when I get my kit, because I will need to do some exchanges.

I don't believe you can exchange starter kit items. Although they might make an exception in this situation. (It says on the bottom of the starter kit form that exchanges aren't allowed). I would call Demonstrator Support to find out though.
You do have a 3 day right to cancel though on your starter kit. Call demo support before your kit is shipped to you. They are open today not tomorrow. Explain what happened... and that you really wanted to wait until July 15th.

You could also think of this if you are impatient like me! YOu can sign up now and with your first $150 order you could get all the in-color stuff - and only pay $30 for it with the 30% off.
I am trying to decide if I am patient enough to wait for 2 more weeks!
I'm still trying to decide if I want to do the $85.00 kit........Couple of questions about it:
Do you still have to have at least $300.00 per quarter?
Can you still get the "sneak peaks" to mini catalogs, etc? And are you considered a full fledged demo?
I understand there's a problem with one of the new in-colors (Bermuda Bay?)-is this going to be a problem after the 15th when you can order the $85.00 starter kit?
There is no difference in your demo status regarding which kit you choose. Stampin' Up! does not have different levels such as "hobby" or "business" demo. However, if you have higher sales, you will get a higher percentage or your sales back and more perks.
All demos equally have access to pre-orders, sneak peeks, complimentary catalog, etc.
We don't have a date on the Bermuda Bay color yet, so we don't know if it will be shipped with the starter kit or sent later.
