Default Question About Linen Cardstock

Where do you buy the best value white linen cardstock? Is Staples suitable or should I order online from a company that caters to paper crafters? I need to make copies of images that coordinate with dies. The originals are printed on linen cardstock and I would like to maintain the same look and texture. Thanks in advance!

I purchase a lot from Marco Paper. They have a huge website & great customer service.

Not Staples. I made that mistake. It isnt heavy enough.

I like Marco's too. I think Stampin Up makes a heavy one-someone tell us.

SU makes a heavy white cardstock (new), but it's not linen. Just smooth, I think. I just love all the choices at Marco's.

Thanks for the Staples warning. I was eyeing some. I'll stay away.

I just ordered some recently from Ellen Hutson. I think it's in her Essentials line. It's a nice, crisp white linen. I love Birgit's cards as well as HRR (Julie Ebersole) cards when they use linen so I just caved and got it. But, if I knew what it was I probably would order in bulk from Marco's!

I should really say it's ok for layers but not the card itself. I use it for prototypes, some layers and dividers in my cling storage books. But when it is gone I will be sticking to Michael's Recollections 110 lb. Not all 110 lbs are equal.

American Crafts (AC) basic cardstock is linen pattern on one side-you can find that all over. What's nice about it is you can get it in seasonal color packs as well as white and black solo. Again, only good for layers. When that is gone I wont get that again either. Bazzil is the same. That's in Michaels and elsewhere.

Can you tell I have floundered a lot with paper? Before I was here.

Wave jumper - please enlighten us on what other paper mistakes we should not make. The last post was so helpful

I have some American Crafts Linen in the metallic colors, and it's gorgeous. Pretty much everything I've bought in their line has been wonderful.

Papertrey Ink makes a linen in fresh snow and vintage cream. Haven't tried it yet, but I want to...just keep forgetting to order it!

Another vote for PTI where I got the white linen; I already had cream linen from Marco's.

Love both; they're very subtle.

Copperkids-

I am no expert! I still make mistakes.

This tutorial on paper weight was extremely helpful to me (though several years after I had started making cards sadly) Maybe it will help others too. I bookmarked it so I can refer back to it. (To bookmark-click on the little star in the box where the link to here is over on the right side-this saves links for you in a list)

I have not used the metallics from American Crafts yet. I will check those out.
