Sorry to start this thread up again, but I have a question -
what is the difference between: //www.splitcoaststampers.com">My Favorite Website
and
[*url=www.splitcoaststampers.com][*color=blue]My Favorite Website
I know that the second one gives you a colored link, but aside from that what is the difference!!! when do you use each one.
My head is spinning trying to sort all of this out!!!
TIA!

the bracket version is like shorthand, kinda. or more accurately, it's a way that's more english-like than the purely code version. it's used by the software that runs our forums/gallery, but not guaranteed to work elsewhere.
when you see the "<a href" stuff, that's actual HTML code. HTML is the building block language of any web page. it lets you "markup" your page (that's the "M" in HTML) so that the computer will know what to do with what you've typed (if you type a web address in HTML, you have to include the "<a href" stuff so the computer knows it's a web address).
for your purposes, using the bracket method should work here in the forums and also the gallery.
