Default Provo Craft's Silent Eyelet Setter

Has anyone tried it? How does it work? It says you don't need a hammer. I'd like to get it if it is easy to use. The hammer is a bit loud. TIA!

I have one & i love it. It is very easy to use.
I usually stand when I use it. Rock/twist the tool slightly & that's it.

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT

Just have to be careful if purchasing someone elses eyelets, other than SU.....I had a tougher time with some others. Still, you couldn't wrestle this thing from me!

Default AWESOME TOOL!!!

This setter is awesome!!! I absolutely love it! I could use it in the same room with my hubby sleeping and not wake him up!!! the harder eyelets don't work as well, but SU! eyelets work great!

see...I have mixed emotions about this thing. lol

I can't get it to cut paper for the life of me! .... ...and it's so hard to set the eyelet without standing up. Since I scrap sitting down, getting up and down is a PITA to me. JMO. I end up using a paper punch to make the holes for my eyelets instead.

I do like to use it late at night though so it won;'t wake up dd! ...lol but I'm definitely preferring my ready set tool. I got this before the karen foster and the mm setters came out.

I'm on the loving it side too. It is one of the tools I just can't live without. There is a knack to it, kind of twist and push down at the same time, but unless you have weak wrists or arthritis, you shouldn't have too many problems. I sit down and use it and have never had any problems.

I'm actually really sad that I bought it, wish I could return it. I hate how messy the eyelets look when they're set, they just split them wide open. :( The punch part works fine, but since I use eyelets a lot, my kids aren't bothered by the sound when they're sleeping. I've never woken them up from using eyelets, and there have been times when I've used them A LOT for birthday bags and such. I know I'm against the crowd here, but JMHO.

Love it!

I agree that it's much easier to use standing up, but that doesn't bother me at all. I totally LOVE not having to use a hammer, plus it comes with three "anywhere" punches - that are so easy to interchange!

Thumbs up

Here's a trick I learned from my sister-in-law, who is a SU demo. Punch the hole as you normally would with the 1/8" hole punch, then use the 1/16" hole punch on the back to finish the eyelet! It is awesome and takes no standing or pounding. It doesn't split the back at all. I haven't used it on non-SU eyelets yet, so I don't know how it would work with others.

Give it a try if you have both size punches - it works great!

LOVE IT!! It would be on my list of "must haves!" I love that it comes in its own little carrying case so it is easy to pack and carry with me to a class or crop! SU eyelets are the best with it....sold all my others on ebay!!!

I couldn't do without mine. I used to "avoid' using eyelets even when I thought they would look great with a project, because I often do my scrappin' and stampn' when my dh is either watching tv or asleep and I didn't want to be too much of a disturbance since my scrapbook room is right off from our living room. I have not had any trouble with the tool defacing my eyelets in anyway and the puches are great and a crisp clean cut out!

Just thought you might want to know if you have an AC Moore's in your area, the sales ad for the week of Oct 5-11th says the provo silent setter is $9.99 orginally $18.99.
