Default Problem with Pink ATG gun

I just got this and can not open the case.
I have had other ATG guns, and never had a problem. Is there something I am doing wrong, or have others had this problem?

I had the same problem with mine! I was finally able to open it, but it made such a loud SNAP when I did that I thought I broke the thing.

Now that I got it open the one time, it seems to open & close like it should. But holy, moly, that first time was almost the death of me.

So glad to hear it's going to be better the second time...I opened it once and I've been afraid to try again! It was painful! lol

What do you mean by the "case"? Do you mean the cover or are you talking about a carrying case for the atg gun?

I was talking about the cover. I had to have help getting it open--once open, it now opens easily. It might have something to do with the piece of paper with the instructions that was inside the ATG.

I had the same problem. I thought I was going to have to take it back. Finally got it.

Are we talking about the pink gun that AC is selling for 15 that has replacement tape like the tom bow but has 40 feet of tape on it.

We're talking about the Scotch 3M Advanced Tape Glider, retailing at $39.99 at some Michaels stores, although the prices vary. The refill rolls are 36 yards each. Here's a photo on Amazon: Amazon.com: Scotch Pink Advanced Tape Glider & Tape

I am so glad I read this thread last week. My pink ATG came in today's mail and I had a tough time getting it open. I persevered, thanks to the advice given here, and it works now. I am a bit concerned that the 1/4" tape seems to be riding just at the edge of the roller. Is that normal?

yes its normal... it rides really close to the edge of the roller but it works.

I put a small bit of wd-40 on my finger and rubbed it on the inside of the case where the latch clicks shut and open. This really helped get it open the first time. After the first time, no problem.

Mine rides the edge of the roller too, sometimes- it has actually slipped off. I also have a problem with the glue not actually sticking to the paper, but rather staying on the roll, therefore, I have to go back with my finger and break the tape line.

Maybe it's because I'm left-handed, I don't know. I like it, but I also don't really like it. I'm still "sitting on the fence".
