Oooh ooh! I just got a mini sewing machine at Michael's for 9.99! It works great and is battery operated. Its can beither table top or hand held and its made for paper or cloth. I love it!
As far as the postage blade, you can buy the fiskars blades for a large paper trimmer. I havent bought one yet but I use the scoring blade for my big one and I like it just as much as the small one that SU! sells. Its called perforated (sp?!) blades
Hey if you have an AC Moore near you they are on half price sale this week!! Only 4.99
If you go to Michaels, be sure to ask for the 40 percent coupon that they usually run!
Just a penny pinching idea, you know the new catty is coming out soon!!!
I don't think we do have them in this area, I've never heard of ACMoore until this board. You're right, I'm waiting until new catty comes out for any purchases, hoping they might have a xyron or some other things like that people have been discussing lately, plus I'd rather buy all my stuff from SU even if it's offered slightly cheaper elsewhere to help me for Great rewards points hostess credit, quotas, etc!
I have the Provocraft mini sewing machine and it isn't that great. It's hard to control the thing and I have a hard time sewing straight. Plus it won't do zig zag and I do so love the zig zag stitch on cards!
I got the mini machine with my 40% coupon, so I only spent about $6 on it, so not a total loss.
I'm actually hoping a little sewing machine will show up in the new cati.... they have showing lots of samples with machine sewing on them. Wouldn't that be cool!!!
Wow might have to look for a little sewing machine. Right now I use my big one, mainly cause it is right by my dining room table which is where I stamp for now, till I get my own stampin room this year in new house!!
Hi Everyone...
Here's a tip that I recently read in a scrapbooking magazine... Cutter Bee makes those cute little bug shaped thingies with scoring blades, perforating blades and cutting blades... I'm sure many of us have bought them and never used them - huh? But, someone suggested taking the perforating blade and running it over an ink pad - it makes a neat little line that looks like stitching - just think of the possibilities. I did try this on a piece of scrap paper and it does look like stitching - I also tried my old perforating wheels from my sewing kit but the "stitch" didn't really look like a stitch... might be something to play with if you already own these things!!! But I think zigzag might require an actual sewing machine!! Have Fun

Cutter Bee makes really great scissors and personal paper trimmers, but they also make these cute little bug shaped hand-held thingies... usually sold ina package of 3 with each one having a different retractable blade in it - one for cutting, one for scoring and one for perforating... I've seen them at scrapbook stores and at craft stores - like Michaels or Hobby Lobby... they are fairly inexpensive and handy to carry to classes and the like... it's the perforating blade that makes a nice looking stitch line when ink is applied to it first... just a different way to use something...

I have noticed lately that our local Walmart stores have started carrying the 3-pack at a much better price than what I have seen them for at michaels or hobby lobby. Just a thought for you that have walmart's near.
Rebecca,
To answer your original question about where to get the Fiscars that cut the postage stamp edge...I'm sure you're referring to the scissors here and not a rotary blade that fits in the big cutter (I've not seen one for it though it may be in the works). Just look at your local stamp, scrap or fabric store...I found mine at Jo-Anns Fabrics in the craft section. The scissors are called "stamp" and it is written on the side of the blade. I also found a larger size (for really big looking stamp edges) at the scrap book store - the are manufactured by Emagination. You can no doubt do a web search for these and find some place that will do mail order.
Good luck finding your edgers!
