I actually leave it a mess, and clean it up *before* i start a project - that choice wasn't there!!! I try to be like Jennigirl and managed to do that for one whole day... sigh. it was nice.

I'm with you on that one!
After finishing a card/project the last thing I want to do is clean up. I am fortunate enough to have a stamping room that I can close the door so I don't have to look at the mess. The rest of my house is usually tidy so I don't stress about one room being a bit of a mess.

I straighten up after each project. My definition of CLEAN is dust and all that stuff. Now THAT'S another story. You can write you name on my computer base. Ick!

One of my resolutions this year is to get more stamping done and to send more cards. Seems like all the stamping I do is for classes and parties. In order to get more done, I am cleaning up QUICKLY after each project. I seem to be more free to create in a fresh space. I like my new clean-up schedule! I used to just work in layers on the table and clean up when I couldn't take it anymore.
Good poll, thanks for asking!

I recently spent *a lot* of time cleaning and organizing my stamping area. Since then, I've been very good about cleaning up after every project. I find myself wanting to stamp more now that I have a clean, organized area to use.
I wish that the organization fairy would visit some other areas of the house, but so far, no such luck. ;)

I'm one of those who only "cleans" when my desk is so piled up that I no longer have any room to stamp. Sick, I know. It does get frustrating when I lose things in the mess so that's usually when I know it's time to put some stuff away (particularly paper scraps).
I clean up my area right away too. It's my kitchen table so I pretty much have to clean it off. Now if I had my stuff in a room, it would be chaos. I'm completely organized at work...at home...not so much.
My Dining room table is my craft area, so by every night, it has to be cleaned up. Pain in the rear? Yes, but all my stuff is neatly organized every night;)
i clean up after each project. cant stand looking at a mess before i start a new project. yes, probably OCD.
and what's with organizing? i feel i have to do that all the time too. it encroaches on my stamping time. (which is very limited since the birth of my beautiful daughter.)
My craft space is in my unfinished basement and it is way too cold to use in the winter. So right now it looks like a tornado hit it because I just run down there long enough to grab what I need. The stuff I have taken back down hasn't been put away so it is getting impossible to find things! Hoping for a warm stretch soon so I can get down there and get it organized. And I am hoping to get my basement finished before next winter so I won't have this problem again!
I wish I was OCD but my stamp room is a mess. Then again, I don't stamp in there and tend to bring my stuff to where everyone is. . .I planned to have it neat and organized so I could stamp in there but I tend to just throw my stuff in there when done and when it gets too bad, I clean it and straighten up.

I voted for Oh...we're supposed to clean it? My stamp area is my dining room table so I clean it if we're going to have enough company to have to eat on the big table. Which is hardly ever!

I made it! Dec 2006-July 2007!
My nonstamping, weight-loss blog sort of.
Wow! I can't believe so many of you are tidy stampers! LOL I clean up some every week--sometimes every day, if I'm in the middle of lots of projects and need the space. :-) Every month I really clean up and vacuum, dust a bit, wipe off my table. That's usually because my friend is coming to use some of my stuff!
Since I'm a weekend crafter, I clean up on Friday night, so it will be ready for Saturday and Sunday FUN!

I voted once a month. To be honest, I am not that messy of a stamper. I will put away my stamps (well clean them and put them in their boxes and then move them to the floor) and pile up my scraps after each project but I only really put stuff away when I know my parents or any other overnight guests are coming. My stamp room also holds our spare bed, so it is a guest room.
im the same my stampin room door closes so i dont bother especially considering i NEVER get to finish a project in one sitting cuz i have 4 children (5 if you count the husband) somtimes it takes 3-4 days to finish a project and if i had to clean up after myself every time i got up i would never finish a project!!!
I clean after every project just 'cause I make such a huge mess being "creative" that I don't have a space to make anything new. This is really ironic since my cards (at least the ones I like) are always very simple. How can one person make such a big mess and produce simple cards? Indecision may or may not be my problem....Pull stuff out + stare at it + try it out + decide not to use + don't bother to put it away = a huge mess!
I voted "after each project" but a TOTAL cleaning, about once a month, or whenever we're getting ready to have company. It seems I can't find what I want if I don't do a little straightening up after each project.
During peak creating time (like Christmas season) it gets pretty cluttered as I go from one project to the next, or have multiple things in the works. But usually, I put everything away after I complete each project.
I voted "Oh we are suppossed to clean it...." but in reality I clean it when I cant find things any longer. Hubby says I move things from one table to the next and call it cleaning.........WHATEVER! LOL! Janice
