I'm making this easy for you, (you don't have to pick just one). So, which 5 stamp sets and / or accessories can't you live without? I want to place a big order in January and as always I cannot decide on what to buy.
Everything I make has one of these. (Of course, ribbon is *much* more than one thing! LOL)
Invest in more accessories than stamps, I think. One stamp set can go a long way if you have the paper, inks, ribbons, brads/buttons to go with it! I try to keep my stamp purchases to 1/3 of my orders. (It's hard, but I try!) I never go over half. I think the accessories are so much more important!

My choices would be, markers, any punch, carstock, my paper cutter, and coluzzle. My stamp sets would be loads of love page(all of them), any wheel (My favorite thing) any of the rivet sets and canvas BG. However I could live with the just the wheels and the markers. AND a couple of the ink carts. for my wheels.( Brown black and white) That didn't help did it? I can't stick to JUST 5!!! Sorry....Not very ha ha.

I just submitted to a thread on how many stamp sets I own and it is a huge amount but now I see I only need 4 sets. I would be a happy lady if I had to give away the rest but I could keep these 4 sets and my markers.

I don't have any "must have" stamp sets. I like lots of different stamps from different places, but from SU, I must have glossy card stock - lots of it. Many of my card fronts use glossy white from SU because you can do so much with it, including making some really cool colored glossy paper by inking with any color ink and a brayer or painting with acrylic paint to make a nice smooth colored stamping surface.
- A brayer is a must have.
- Glossy white CS is a must have.
- Classic ink pads in many colors - must have (I'm buying the reds next because someone did a challenge with red and I fell in love).
- I think the big SU tabletop cutter is also a MUST HAVE. I am awful at cutting paper, and this just works so well.
- Some of the punches are must haves as well.
The stamp sets I must have always change due to my stampin mood... I always use Print Pattern a lot & all year cheer though (dunno which one off hand, i only have 1). As for other stuff I have to have eyelets, craft ink (I don't like regular ink at all!! Rarely use the stuff!), clear embossing powder & heat gun, Ribbon (mostly use SU grossgrain ribbon)... fifth one is hard... probably my hodgepodge hardware- love that stuff! :O)
