Default Places to send or donate my cards to

Hello! I know in the past there have been threads about this but I can't seem to find any of them now. I'm a card maker and I like to make lots of cards. Problem is, I don't always have people to send my cards to. I have a nice size collection that I'm not sure what to do with.

Does any one have any suggestions? Thank you in advance!

There are, as you said, many places to which to donate. I hooe you find these links helpful:

Item #2 in the first post has good info

Several organizations are listed as ongoing causes:

June 2019's cause is here:

The Need A Lift forum has a subforum for card requests. You can see it here:

And then there are local nursery homes and hospitals too.

Just a suggestion.....a lot of long-term nursing homes would love to have cards for their residents to give to family or for to each other. I know when my FIL and MIL were in a home, often kids from a local school would bring them in cards they made and it was a real hit with the residents to just get a card to have hang on their wall.

This is so true! I donate the cards I make to a local nursing home. Some they sell in their gift shop and others they pass out for free to the residents. It's difficult for the residents to get to a store to buy greeting cards, but they still love to send them to family and friends, so this allows them to do so. I love making the cards and they love getting them - win/win!

For those of you that donate cards to a nursing home, do you do flat front cards so they don't have to worry about excess shipping if the residents are mailing them? I worry about donating some of my bulkier cards for that reason, but I have some super cute multi layer cards that i would like to donate.

When my daughter was born we spent a few days with her in the NICU and enjoyed the quiet comfort of the Ronald McDonald House lounge. I always give back to them when I can, and they love having handmade cards for the families to use.
