Wow, I just found this thread! Mindy, now I see where you heard about A Muse! =) I'm sending you a package so you can get hooked and Jon will want to kill me! LOL
However, I am sorry for those of you who weren't happy about receiving the postcards. I can understand your concerns and frustrations about privacy. I am glad to learn that A Muse didnt buy a list from somewhere else. I love the company and have been happy with their business practices thus far and hopefully that will continue.
When I received my catalogs, I did see a similarity with the SU catalog as far as layout was concerned. I feel like the overall "style" of A Muse is different than SU tho, as far as samples go, so I think both catties are a wonderful resource to have to gain inspiration from. I dont know about you, but I can always use more inspiration and a variety of styles to chose from.
Plus, I am just dying over their cardstock and patterned cardstock! I was one who never liked the idea of white cardstock with the color or image printed on top, and I've TOTALLY changed that view! I love making cards that are totally white on the inside and the color I want on the outside. And the inks...well, I thought I would hate them and I dont...I love them.
I just found this thread again...I have a couple of questions, if anyone can answer them for me....How much in orders do I need to place, and how often? example....$300 every 3 mos??? Is the starter kit still on sale? thanks!!
I too like their stamps. Saw my first catalog at Scrapbook Expo this past weekend.
Right now I've been in a money Crush...Dh being laid off for awhile.
So as soon as the money starts rolling in again. I'm going to pick up some stamps and supplies.
I just found out a lot of the ex-TAC Demo's are joining up as Amuse demo's.
(The Angel Company closed it's doors the other day) Just in case you didn't know.
Yes, it is $300 every 3 months (that includes both items you purchase and/or items you sell). The starter kit is still on sale. The regular kit is $99 and the deluxe kit is $149. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any more questions!

Ok, I understand if I want to place an order and get Hostess benefits I have to have a demo place the order instead of ordering online. Is that correct?
Will amuse direct ship the order to me? Or will I need a local demo?
Thanks!

ceramicat - you have to order through a consultant to get the hostess benefits and the hostess can list your address instead of hers for the drop shipment.
You are welcome to order from any consultant's website, even if there is a local consultant.

Thanks everyone, for your response. I did hear about TAC, and I'm very sad about it. Alot of demos are sad about the news. Amuse looks like a great company though, but I don't think I can do $300 every 3 mo.
Karen: You only need to order $300 retail each quarter (3 months long) which is easy if you do 1-2 workshops each quarter.
Also remember that your personal orders count at retail so you only need to place a $240 consultant order each quarter ($80 monthly) if you want to work the business as a hobby demo. A lot of people do this and some of them have found themselves doing more because it's so fun and easy!
The starter kit is an awesome deal and I can't believe how much stuff is in there for such a low price. If you have any more questions there are lots of us around to help--we are a friendly bunch and love to talk about it!
Thank you Lianne!! Yes, everyone is so helpful to everyone else!! I love this website. I think the starter kit is a wonderful deal!! thinking....thinking....
Yes, I believe it is. I am planning to listen in to a conference call on Thursday of this week (you can find the details on their facebook page) to hear more about the company and ask a few questions. I'm definitely interested.

Actually, you have 6 months. After the first 3 months, you are considered "pending" for another whole quarter, not just another 30 days. You have until that time to decide to let it go, or spend the first and second quarter's minimum for a total of $600. When you become a consultant, you do not have to meet minimums until the next full quarter, so depending on when you sign up, you may even get in an extra 2-3 months without minimums.
If you are voluntarily leaving another "home-party paper-crafting" company, you need to check their no-compete clauses in your agreement and provide A|MUSE with a copy of your written resignation from the prior company. In the case of TAC going out of business, their demonstrators don't need these.
As an A|MUSE consultant, you can be a member of a design team and not worry about the "blog police" turning you in because you used or mentioned another company's product in your project, like mailboxes from Target or lace from WalleyWurld. As long as you aren't promoting any other "home-party, paper crafting" organzation, you are OK.
When you sign up, you get 20% of all your personal orders, and an additional 10% off of an order
You can sign up under a particular consultant, or not list one at all and A|MUSE will assign you to an experienced senior consultant as your upline.
There are several former TAC folks signing up and introducing themselves in the consultant lounge. They seem really bummed about TAC, but excited to have found a new stamping home.

So I took advantage of the special and joined Been thinking about it for a while, but I've been in such a stamping slump that it seemed like a silly thing to do. It's been an extreme, at least year long, slump that I'm just now climbing out of and I'm hoping this new venture will give me the kick in the rear I need to get stamping again. I'm way excited!
I was an Angel for a couple of years, but hung up my wings because of the slump. Reading all the posts about the closing of the company made me realize how much I miss the companionship of my stamping buddies. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you better.
I'm heading over to the consultant website to start looking around :0
I went for the bigger starter kit and paid for 3 day shipping - I figured I had to make up time for the Labor Day holiday...it'll be nice to start stalking the UPS man again. Now to start planning for my Open House

I think Mr. Brown would worry he wasn't loved anymore if you stopped stalking him.
Be prepared to receive a box of corn cobbettes - it's actually your goodies in a recycled box. And don't let your spouse put it in the freezer to keep until you come home. That almost happened to one consultant!

LOL, that's funny! My hubby now knows to just put it right inside the door so I don't have to hunt my box down...granted mine say SU but it's the same feeling no matter which company you're with:-) Glad to know I'm not the only crazy UPS stalker...I'd like to tell mine thanks but he runs off too fast!!!! Maybe he's scared of the barking mad dog....all 6 pounds of her, lol!
Have fun with your goodies! I have some coming Thurs and I have to work LATE....12 or so hours on Friday and then AGAIN on Sat, yuck!!!!

Hi Chris (waving!!)
Chris was my upline when I was with TAC - it's so nice to be starting out on a new journey together
I did not pay for the bigger kit or the 3 day shipping, so I get to stalk UPS for longer....
Be sure to log into the consultant forum (on the a|s site) so we can all chat!
I got a package of free stamps today and I was stalking--I was listening for the truck coming down the road and racing DH to the door to see who got it first! He won and held my box hostage from me, LOL! Poor UPS guy didn't know what hit him!
