Okay. I'm put myself out for the whole world to see. What you are about to witness will turn your hair gray (if it isn't already), your skin crawl and it might even induce a blood-curling (curdling?) scream or two. This is my STAMPIN' SPACE! Oh, I also design jewelry and have lots and lots of beads (that's what's on the pegboard. It looks like this for a couple of reasons.....
1) I've been spending more time working on my house (painting, tearing out carpet, landscaping,etc....) than in my space
2) I haven't had any classes recently so therefore have had no incentive to clean it
3) I've been purging and packing up the bits and pieces because we are moving at the end of the month
I hope the picture size is regulated otherwise they might take up alot of space
Who are you and how did you get into my craft room?!
Seriously - there are many days that I can totally relate to your pictures. And I don't have an excuse! I do may every effort though to clean up, put away, and get back to ground zero on Saturday mornings!
love the purple!! i am painting my room right now in fact, a sunny blueish green, its called vintage map from lowes. I am painting over dark blue so its taking forever!
wow....it's even worse than mine and mine is bad enough to give my super neat neighbor the heebie-jeebies. I hate it when I can't find something but I do need a certain amount of clutter to unleash my creativity.
Love your room! At least you have a place to put everything once you decide to put it away. I am struggling trying to find the room for my stuff. I have boxes and boxes of stuff and nowhere to go with any of it. Now if I took a picture of my room, that would REALLY be blood curdling! LoL. I wish that I had all of the nice organizational places to go with my stamping papers and other stuff like you do. All your room needs is a little tidying up is all. It will all look fine soon. You will feel better, I promise.
But I honestly couldn't leave mine that way. I'd curl up in a little ball and cry. I need NEAT in order to be able to create. LOL~ But I'm a "whatever works for you at the time" kinda gal, so go with the flow if it's good for you. ;)

I've stamped one thing in the last month or so
I've gotten rid of a lot of stuff which will be oh so helpful in the new house. I will say that the state it's in right now is at it's all time worst. Most of the time I have at least one relatively clean surface to work at. I have s ign on the door that says do not enter but did the kids ever heed it? No! They do now though. Just trying to stay on the positive side ;)
I'm not so sure I'm going to have a whole entire room for long. We are having a difficult time finding a house with extra space that we can afford in San Jose. Although I told my dh that if we can at least find one with a garage I'll make do. My bargaining tool is the dining room table. Told him if i don't get my own space then the family loses the table

LOL!! If my stamping space wasn't on my dining room table it would probably look a little like that. Although I am getting better about putting things back when I'm done.

My DH doesn't want more than a half hour commute. I've actually seen some listings in Santa Nella. Gilroy is as far away as he will allow us to live from SJ. He's been working in SJ for a couple of years now and comes home on the weekends. It's old and tiresome. We all want to live in the same house (full-time) again. Hopefully we will find something soon.

My DH and I did the same thing for about a year, then we found housing in Santa Nella. He works in Gilroy and I work in Los Banos, so it works for us. Good luck house hunting!
LOL!! If my stamping space wasn't on my dining room table it would probably look a little like that. Although I am getting better about putting things back when I'm done.
My space is my dining room table and my space DOES look like this (until I need to move stuff to have dinner)
I just spent last weekend sitting on the floor of my craft room reorganizing and throwing away what needed to be thrown. It really wasn't all that bad and I was surprised at how bad it looked and how fast it cleaned up. I really do have a place for everything -- I just need to learn to put things back. When I'm on a roll I may start with a clean table but by the end of several cards I have a postage stamp sized work area left with a pile of flotsam and jetsam on either side. Creativity is such a messy business.
okay I will offer my services to help you clean for oh say have your stash....LOL....Seriously it is still neater than mine. I have a 6x6 spot on my table to work on (thats only when I shove stuff to the side) and I have to be good at acrobats to get to my shelves because stuff keeps jumping onto the floor! My pegboard is sagging and is telling me to get either it a bigger bra size or a wheelbarrow to hold it up and where did I put my glasses???
I'm having the same fears - my hubby just learned we may be transferred to CA and now we are looking around the house to see what is not able to come with us (we are in PA in the country so we have lots of space and the entire basement is mine) I'm not sure how we'll manage to get all of our house stuff, 3 kids worth of stuff and my stamping/craft stuff. He DID however tell me that Ihe knows how inportant it is to me, so i didn't have to get rid of everything - THANK GOODNESS!! I don't even think I could begin to do that! But look for some good stuff to go up on the BST forum here :( as I try to downsize my "collection".
As far as your craft room and all of the "mess" - it only proves to me that you DO something in there and that everything doesn't just sit in it's place waiting to be used - I say GOOD FOR YOU! BUt if you feel like it isn't working for you - take the time to sort and organize - you'll feel better and then be more productive afterwards. I myself, made a resolution this year to be better ( see, I said better, not perfect) about putting things away when I was finished with it and also using what I have, not to keep buying, buying. I have to say that has worked for me - take a little time to get used too, and there are times that I can't clean up at the end, but I try to do it before I start again next tie.
Be patient with yourself - if everything was perfect, life would be no fun! With 3 kids around, I've had to adjust to the clutter of toys, etc. and guess what? We're all alive, fed and clean... and HAPPY! Enjoy today - you never know what tomorrow brings!
I'm making progress! I've got two of the boxes you can see in the pictures packed and neatly stacked in a corner.
Back out I go......My goal by 9pm PACIFIC time is to have my desk AND table cleared off and functional. That's the bare minimum. It's 2:46 PST right now. Think I can do it???? The challenge is on. I'll check in later :-D

My room looks like that 85% of the time. I've been trying to do a little cleaning each day in there for the last four days before I get my new SU! stuff. God only knows where I'm going to put that!
I am so jealous of your space, untidy and all. I have a corner of a spare room that I share with the kids' video systems, tv, etc. Tiny and cramped, but at least it forces me to clean up my stuff so I can walk into my corner.
It looks better than my stamp room. I've finally come to the conclusion I have too much stuff in the space and I'm going to have to start annexing the room next to me. Fortunately I'm in the basement, so its just a matter of moving other craft supplies to make room.
The messiness does not bother me one bit. Out of chaos comes creativity. But I keep getting stuck on the part where you have to pack it up to move!! HOLY BOXES, BATMAN!
I moved from New York to Colorado last summer and I had no less than 50 boxes (large and heavy). It cost a fortune to have them put on a moving truck and they lost at least 10 of them :(. I hope you are moving them yourself!!
Good luck and happy moving!! (San Jose is my hometown!)
I have a room that looks just like that. I am trying to get it cleaned up but quite honestly with so little time to craft, I would rather make a card than clean up the mess.

WOO HOO! I'm almost there. Desk is cleaned off and table is mostly done AND I've even gotten some stuff off of the floor. I will definitely have the table cleaned off by 9 and probably some more stuff off of the floor.
What would you all say if I told that BEFORE the pictures were taken I had already packed up something like 5 or 6 boxes :-D ?
Back to work!

So here are some pictures I took last night when i was done with my afternoon of cleaning/organizing. It's progress, although I still have a ways to go to get the whole room done. I'll be heading out as soon as my coffee is done brewing. I'm too tired to be awake right now but my 20yo dd had bone-shaking chills and came and climbed in bed with me....and now I'm awake....kinda.....
The first one is from the doorway so you can see that I didn't just move things around Forums at Splitcoaststampers
This one is from inside...pretty much the same angle I was for the earlier pictures. Forums at Splitcoaststampers
It's getting "there".....wherever "there" may be

Why thanks everyone!I really do feel blessed to have such a space. upon a time I worked out of a closet and on the dining room table so I can empathize with those of you that too. Having a whole room is so much nicer. I was going to work on it some more earlier this morning but I discovered I was just too tired. I went back to lay down in my bed but in addition to my dd my rat terrier and her pitbull mix were in my bed too. So I went and slept in her bed. I feel more awake now and think my day will be much more productive than it would've been if I had just tried to stay up earlier. See ya'll later!
