I am not too talented in the punch department -- so it is extremely frustrating for me to use the single slot punch to make two EVEN holes for organdy ribbon. I LOVE the double hole punch for that reason, but the holes are a tad too small for 7/8th inch organdy ribbon -- it will work, but when it takes you longer to thread the ribbon than it did to make the whole card, that just doesn't seem too efficient!!!
So today I used my double hole punch, then moved it down just a smidge and punched again, slightly overlapping the first two holes -- the result was two perfectly spaced holes that looked sort of like "8"s and were just big enough to get the ribbon through without a problem!
I'm sure I'm not the first person to do this, but I was pretty excited -- and now I'll be more inspired to use the wider ribbon!!!
Those dental floss threaders are the greatest for threading ribbon - they are made of flexible plastic anad have a huge opening. I had a bunch from the dentist when I had my braces and I love them.
I love to do the double holes as well. I have the long reach punch in a small size so I use that one a lot but punch a couple times or nothing would fit other than the cording.

I have also used the punch to make paper buttons. You punch out a small circle and then use the double punch to make the holes for the button. You can then use the colored thread it looks like a button on your cards. This does take some time but its a really cute look.
I usally do many at one time and store them for later projects.

Great idea for the button - I'll definitely have to try it! Also like the dental floss threader technique - I usually just cut the end of the ribbon on an angle, then squish it together and push the point thru. Great tips ladies!
