I just received my 2 e-mails from SU! I promptly called and got my demo#!
I'm in!!!! I've been welcomed to the Stampin' Up! family. I wanted to shout/cry/leap for joy:-P , but I'm at work! Bummer! I'll shout when I get in the car....
Off to play! I don't think I'll be much use the rest of the day at work....;)
Best wishes to all of you in your business!
Don't forget to register for access to the Demo Forums here at SCS ... lots of reading to do.
Fun as SCS is, it doesn't replace the SU! site for official policies, notifications, etc. ... take some time to get familiar with the SU! site - you'll find it pays off in so many ways!
Doin' the happy dance! Happy dance!! Happy dance!!
I sent my paperwork in last Thursday, and couldn't wait any longer & just called SU! directly - and I'm in! They got my email address wrong, so I didn't get the initial emails I'm supposed to. But I got my demo number & I'm in!
Hooray! So excited!
Carol I'm so jealous!!! Have a wonderful time!
I can't believe how quick SU is with the new sign ups. If mine was mailed out yesterday then there is a chance that I'll hear from them by the end of the week? Oh I hope so!!!!!

Probably. I mailed mine, priority, on Friday. I got the e-mails around lunch-time today (Tue.).
Congrats all. I've wanted to shout and leap for joy all afternoon! I'm finally home and can do that...well, maybe not leap...my leaping days are over. I'll have to bounce.
Yes! I am eager to "see" you on the demo side, too! I got a PM from the moderator after about a day & I hope I followed the instructions correctly!
Still learning how to navigate my way around SU!'s website, too! Thanks again for all the cheering & supporting! So excited!
Well, my SU demo, Nicki, and I got together yesterday and we officially completed the paperwork. She sent it priority mail so we are waiting! I'm so excited! Hopefully by early next week, I'll have an email from SU. It's only been one day and I'm tired of waiting already!!!
I have been reading this thread for days now and I would love to do this mostly just for my own use but I would love the opportunity for training/ sharing with other consultants. I am in Ontario and wondering if there is much offered here? Regionals, etc... My consultant really isn't into the business much so what do you think about going with someone you have never met but has a creative blog that seems excited about the SU business.... Thanks
Hi ladies, just stumbled across this thread and I 'd like to offer my congrats to all those who "TOOK THE PLUNGE" and have received their demo numbers ... wait till you get your Starter Kits ... it's the best gift you could give yourself!!!
If you have any questions or are in SE Michigan and want to meet other demos let me know. Anyone else thinking about joinin' up and have ??? Please ask!! Its a great company and a great opportunity!!

I think if you know that your current demo does not provide any training, then it would behoove you to talk with other potential uplines, either local or long-distance, who are willing to provide you with training and support. Most of the business training can easily be provided long-distance and these days you can get to know people really well just be speaking on the phone or exchanging e-mails, so it's not necessary to meet in person. Personally I think it's better to have a supportive upline who is knowledgeable about your business further away than to have an upline who's not interested in the business nearby.
It sounds like you know what you're looking for so just go ahead and contact the person/people you have in mind and maybe talk with them over the phone to see if you click! It is worth it to do a little legwork up front to make sure you have the right upline. You just need to do it soon because your paperwork has to be in SU's hands this Friday in order to take advantage of the free ink pad special.
CONGRATS Tonya!!!!! My upline mailed my paperwork yesterday so I am patiently waiting! I can't wait to get my info & starter kit!
THANKS!!!! Congrats to you too! You should be hearing from them soon!
I received an e-mail, yesterday, saying that my kit has shipped. I'm tracking it (like a hound). It should be here Wednesday! That's too long. I can't wait that long.... Do you think they'll let me intercept the Brown truck and just take my boxes? Yeah, probably not.... Patience is the hardest part of this....
I am going over and over the catalogue to see what sets I want?? Any must haves???
OOPS -- I apologize -- they have to be in SU's hands next Friday, Sept. 28, not today -- LOL! I didn't mean to start a panic. Still, in order to get it there by Friday without having to pay overnight mailing charges you'd need to get you applicationin the mail soon.
As far as suggestions for sets, it kind of depends on what you like and what, if anything, you already have. SU made its set recommendations in order to give each beginner demo a nice variety, and personally I would say that if you don't already have them, all of these sets are great choices. The only one I might change is the much appreciated set, not because I don't like it but because a set like "pictograms" gives you 4 different sentiments so it might be a little more versatile, especially if you're getting the heartfelt thanks set, which has a "thank you" sentiment in it already.
Of course, if you're just planning to buy stamps at a discount for yourself, then versatility may not be your goal, in which case the above mentioned advice would not be applicable.
I got my kit!!!! It came in 2 different boxes on two different days. I never got any emails from SU! so I don't know my demo # yet. I'll be calling on Monday to find that out!! I'm really excited!

Check out the stuff that came with your kit. When I signed up three years ago, there was a paper inside that had my demo number and starting password on it. You may be able to get started right away.
Have fun getting started!

I checked those papers and nothing was on them. I did get my demo # from my upline this morning!
I decided I am going to sign up too!!! Yeah, I have to hurry to get my paperwork done so we can get it to Calgary. Just need to go over my stamp selection once more!
Did most of you add on the Stampin Memories kit?? I do scrapbook but I didn't know if it was a good enough value to be worth it right now. Opinions....
I didn't add it on. I thought about it, but for me scrapping is a very distance second to stamping so figured I'd start with stamping and spend that extra money on my frist order of things that I would prefer (ie water colour crayons, etc)

I did. I am just as much a scrapbooker as I am a stamper and it is around $87value for $50 and I know I will use it all. I didn't want to regret it if I didn't get it. But that's just my personal choice.

I did and sure am glad. I am using the alpha set a ton and the album has inspired me to start a 6X6 scrapbooking club. It was a huge hit, I have at least 7 gals that joined and more expected. I tell them that by the time we are done with our club they will have the album full.
I have been wanting to sign up for a while but was saving money. Then I heard about the deal and had to put it in overdrive! I signed up 3 days ago and now I am impatiently waiting for my kit! I can't wait...I am not gonna know what to do with all my new stuff!!!
I am wanting to sign up also I think, but I don't see 18 ink pads am I missing it? Or maybe don't know what I am reading. Can some one point that out to me please?
Thank you
Sarah

There is a special till Sept 30 that gives you an extra family of colors. Go to the beginning of this thread and wade your way through it all. It is well worth it for all the info. You just put the numbers on the top of the form.
I thought I had looked thru it all but guess not. I had seen the list of what you get and didn't see the extra 12 but that's an add on special. I keep wondering if I should spend the $199. Its an investment but you do get great things. I would just be a hobby demo at least to start with, as I have a lot to learn before I could teach anything. Thanks, Sarah

Don't sell yourself short, Sarah. You really do not have to be an expert stamper before you start doing parties. I felt the same way you do, but what I found is that most of the guests at my parties never tried stamping, so if I tried to teach them intricate techniques that I was really excited about they would be overwhelmed. Since I became a demonstrator last June my party cards have gotten more and more simple and my party totals have gone up, which just goes to show that all you need is just a little bit more stamping knowledge than your audience and it sounds like you're already there! I'd encourage you to try the business right away instead of waiting. If you don't like it you can always scale back, but you may find yourself loving it and, if so, you might as well find that out right from the beginning!

I did! I haven't really scrapbooked --yet. But I did want another, smaller, alphabet. I have Headlines. Also, I can use the elements on cards; I don't have to use it on scrapbooks.
I read where most people that DIDN'T get it wished they had. So I decided to go on and get it. My kit comes in Wednesday. Can't wait to play.

I had only stamped one time before I decided to become a Stampin' Up! demo. I knew very little about it, but my business took off very quickly! SCS and all of the information on the Stampin' Up! website (demo side) gives you the ideas and techniques you need to quickly stamp like a pro! Now is definetly the time to sign up if you have the desire. The worst that could happen is that you would be out the kit money, but you would have all of the great stuff in the kit which was at a discounted rate! Having a good upline that can help you get started is a great benefit. I make sure that I contact my downline on a regular basis, so that they never feel out of the loop, give them ideas for classes, etc. and just let them know I am very available, through phone or email. If you decide to sign up, just make sure that the upline you choose will be responsive to you, and help you through everything. Don't be afraid to ask them whatever questions you may have. Just don't take too long to decide--time is almost up! Good luck to you!
