New papercrafts magazine? French knot
Im not sure I'm posting this in the right forum. If I'm not someone please correct me. Did anyone get the new mag in yet? I'm making a card and want to do the French knot technique but can't figure out how. Any help?
I just picked up the copy yesterday. I'll attach some photos....hopefully they will help.

Here's a FRENCH KNOT video on YouTube that might help. When I learned, I was told to wrap it around 3 times instead of 2...just depends on how large you want your knot.

I love the idea of using French Knots in papercrafting. I decided to do a gallery search and found some beautiful cards where either ribbon or thread had been used to decorate cards with French Knots. Here's the link if anyone would like a look:
God demonstrated His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us ... being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. Romans 5:8 & 9
That's it! I am getting out of the paper crafting world, ROFL! I HATE FRENCH KNOTS! They are evil. I am telling you they are really evil. I used to be on a forum where some of the top needle artists would trade pieces so they could help each other out on stitching techniques. French Knots was always the top one people had trouble with. I can do them but I hate them. You know our threads what trend will you not do. I can say with certanity in 2012 will be French Knots!
Tips it does help to use Thread Heaven. I think when you do the knot faster instead of slower you get better results. I agree lots of YouTube videos. When I learned there was no YouTube. I had to follow a book. That was only about seven years ago, I think.
The trick with French knots (also known as Colonial knots) is to keep the needle loose. After you wrap the thread around two or three times and put the needle back into the knot to pull, you have to pull very gently. Otherwise, you're pulling most of the knot down under the fabric. Does that make sense?
I love needle arts, so I'm always happy when I can combine it with paper crafting.
