Count myself, my downline of 1 (teehee), and several very good customers in. At this point there would be 5 of us...all from NH.
I'm in Southern NH...so could help with legwork and organization. Also if something prior to October 1st would be good I have access to a facility with kitchen and also could have it catered by a FABULOUS Italian restaurant for a VERY reasonable rate.
As far as swaps and classes go...there is also the idea of putting together a technique sample book...demos could use this for business...customers can use the samples as cards to send.
Just offering some ideas...lots more stored up in my brain...LOL!
Shoebox swap sounds intriguing. Still have questions about it but I'll save those for a later date. As for what to do in terms of a day or overnight.........I think a day event would be more feasible, as much as I would like an overnight. However don't have the day(s) so jammed pack that we can't chat with each other. I say we eat, chat, and create!
Kim-
I'll be emailing you soon!

Stored in your brain......C'mon-let them out!! Great ideas!

I'd love to attend, but it would depend on the location. I live in Bangor, Maine, (born and raised in Boston), and there isn't much stamping going on up here, so I've never participated in any gatherings or conventions. If anyone knows about anything that I'm missing, please clue me in!

I haven't posted here in a while, but I hope I was counted!! I'm coming from SE Ct. Actually, put me down for 2 - I'll drag my SIL. (I'm sure she'll be kicking and screaming )
Anyplace works fine for me. I'm used to driving 1-2 hours to see my friends and family so even further wouldn't be an issue to meet the SCS family!!
Any time works for me - I don't have any kind of upcoming events. My DH can go hang out at lodge, my DD is self-sufficient enough to handle me gone, I'll only need to find daycare for my poodle.
A swap would be good for demonstrators, but not particularly useful for those of us who are just obsessed stampers! I'm not a demonstrator, and I sell the cards I make, so I wouldn't have any need for cards made by others, but an "idea" swap would be great. I guess that's pretty much what a "shoebox'" swap is, isn't it? :?

Does anyone know what the total count is right now.And what area are you looking at to hold the event.Just curious so I can start planning ahead and putting some money aside.

It's someone who buys stamps they didn't normally like at first, only to see it in Split Coast Stampers gallery in a different perspective.
I would definitely be interested as well. I'm in Manchester, NH and I'm sure Shelli and I could round up quite a few stampers to join us in the madness!
My husband works in Nashua so I could ask him if he knows of any places we could use. Perhaps even like a cafeteria in a school? I don't know how that would work...
I agree with Shelli that a shoebox swap would be good - depending on the number of people becauseit could become a little too costly for some. Doing the swaps like at conventions and regionals is always fun and gets you chatting like someone else said they wanted to have time to do. You come with as many completed cards (or card fronts - depending on what the organizer chooses, in this case Kerry?) as you had time to make before the event. And then that day you swap with anyone you want!
Anyway, just a suggestion... we're just all full of them, huh Kerry?!
It sounds like there are lots of people interested and I'm sure everyone will be happy with what is decided upon!
I am happy to see that you girls are giving your ideas!!!
I am going to start looking for a place soon. I guess I keep hoping that it will suddenly become spring around here! After yesterdays 12-18 inches of snow....it does not seem like Spring is going to happen anytime soon.
:?
Anyway life has slowed down a bit for the next couple of weeks. so I can look around.
If we had many interested in doing a shoebox swap we could always do a couple of groups of them. We'll see.
I am thinking the end of September for a date. Before leaf peeper season.
Please let me know when and where and if I am able I will be there. Who is getting this together and will you keep track of all us that have answered here and keep us updated?
I would be coming from SE mass, anyone else interested in going from this area, maybe we could keep each other company and car pool?
I am from east bridgewater and would ride with you if I can make it!! I hope this is still in the works!!
My church in Burlington, MA rents out rooms. They have a nice size dining room that can fit about 80 people I think (including round tables and some long tables and shelves for food! and supplies if needed). The church is not far from Rte 3 and 95/128. Are there any dates being thrown around? If anyone knows for sure, let me know and I'll check the church calendar and reserve the room.
I would love to go to something like this. I am not trying to take over, just start this making a date thing rolling, how is AUGUST for everyone!! What do you think Bostonstamps??
