Default New catty reviews!

The new wheels are FABULOUS! I have several on my list.

Love, love, love the new sympathy set. The sayings are absolutely perfect also for things like cancer, job loss, and other tragedies. I have, for so long wanted something to use instead of "Get Well" for dying or chronic problems, loss of house in a fire, loss of job, etc. This set is a must have.

Christmas--2 years in a row of boring.

Love the new tag box set with the labels and matching punch but oh so pricey.

Love the new trading sets but outrageously expensive.

The rose set and sunflower sets look like re-runs of old sets to me.

The new colors are fantastic.

The set with ribbons, zig zag is great but a long overdue rip off of HA sets. I predict that those who wanted that look got it at least a year ago.

The pirate set is soooo cute.

Who in the heck do you send those lawn decoration set sayings too? Short chubby people? weeds? Weird people and gnomes. What were they thinking?

Lots of great sets if you have little kids. The skunk set would make good scrapbook pages for a tot in diapers! Not so much for those of us with grown kids because again who would you send the cards too.

Horrible lack of male cards and no firemen!

Love the new gorgeous papers!

Backgrounds, oh my! Will be spending lots of money there. All those fabric ones are so very appealing and work so well for double backgrounding.

Love the new Level 1 Hostess set that looks like jeans buttons!

Overall, pretty good catalog and they will be getting some of my money this year!

Here is my review. I agree the level 1 hostess sets seem to be the best this year, a little backwords if you ask me. I am just hoping I am able to earn them all. I love almost all of them.

I adore all the vintage sets including Stamping Fun for everyone, the vintage tv and radio one, Mix and Mingle, and Quirky quips. All of those I plan to order and use together.

Nice to see new words sets. Love the Glad tidings set.

I really like the Wildlife Conservation, Hip hip hooray, and all of pg 63.

I am disappointed with the wedding section. When are they going to come out with some traditional classy wedding sets? The poodle set totally turns me off.

The squirrel and skunk sets remind me of hello kitty style of artwork. Would be great sets for teenage girls in my opinion.

The new colors rock, so glad they have neurtral WWC, about time on the brads in color families.

Why not markers to match the new colors coming out?

There are so many great jumbo wheels in this new catty I bet the jumbo ink cartridge sales sky rocket!

I totally agree about the set re-runs. The hydrangea is very similar to the old one, too.
We need a new army one like Godspeed.
I don't know what to do with the squirrel or the skunk..... Thank goodenss the set with the chairs is gone.... What's with all the gnomes?
I love the new colors! No Markers???!!! Who thought that was a good choice???
Waiting for catalogs in NYC......

Overall I think the new catty is a hit. Quite impressed with it myself. Unfortunate about the lack of masculine (non-wildlife) sets. I was really hoping for a lighthouse set maybe with some boats or something.

Default It's funny how our opinions differ

I don't really like any of the Level 1 hostess sets. Last year I could have had almost all of them but this year I am only interested in 2 (rivets and regards) and if you have Greeting For All Reasons (which I do) the Warmest Regards is pretty much redundant.

I guess we're all different.

Default Love it!

This new catalog has re-inspired my love for stamping ... I had kind of lost interest for a while. I'm a demo and had pretty much decided to hang it up ... but the stampin' bug jumped right out of this new catty and bit me again! First of all the samples throughout the catalog are great! In past years a lot of them were simply too complicated or time consuming ... I found that there were many that will be very easy to duplicate. What else do I LOVE about this new catty?
I LOVE the new hostess sets! Particulary Level 1 - a really good value and much better choices than last year.
I was also happy to see so many choices in less expensive sets ... I have FIVE sets that went on my wish list that are all under $20! Three of those are under $15!
I adore the RMHC set ... REALLY cute and only $11.95!
An additional Sympathy set (on my list for sure)
I love the "Growing Up" section ... so many cute new sets and not necessarily for just kids (or Moms). Another great section is the "Say it with Stamps" section ... so many word stamps that I REALLY want!
Can't wait to get Letter Patterns ... I do have background stamps that I have used but these will be so much less cumbersome to use!
I'm excited about WHITE Staz-On! That will be on my first order for sure. The new envelopes - love that rounded flap ... a nice touch IMHO. WWC in Neutrals - Yay!!! Colored brads and patterened ribbon ... Yay again!
Of course, I am human and had some disappointments:
Some sets that I find odd and don't understand at all (i.e., Knobbly Gnomes, No Place Like Gnome, the Skunk set - even worse the Squirrel set). I was disappointed at the lack of masculine sets - although happy to see more "boy" sets at least.
Overall I am really happy with the new SU! Catalog and I'm glad I decided to hang in there with stamping!

I agree about the lack of new Christmas sets and the male sets, I was hoping for more. And yeah what about those Gnomes???? I will be spending money in this catty, but a little disappointed.

All you need is an inkpad and a blender pen for the marker.

I love the catty too. I think it has a more professional look to it. I love the examples MUCH better than last years. There are some sets that I never really noticed but now do from the samples.
I was disappointed in the vintage sets but other than that I LOVED it.
I LOVE all the new scappin kits, I swore I was not going to get another alpha set this year but now am reconsidering. I LOVE the new papers.
I'm glad they have the tag punch. It was the only thing I wanted in the tag box last year. Don't care for the new one though.
LOVE that brads are in color families.

Nobody likes the little skunks except me?? I think the squirrel is a little too funky-looking for me...and the lawn ornament knome is kinda scary...
I really like the new selection of backgrounds!
Disappointed that there are no new masculine sets, other than the very
nice Wildlife reserve.
Overall, the new catalog is wonderful--lots of variety.

Don't forget about the mini catties girls! They can't shove it all into one! LOL!
I am LOVIN this new one. I think its one of the best ever. I think they did amazing with all the hostess sets. And all the added accessories! New colors and accessories. Love all the punches too.
I got the skunk-too cute.
Hate Knomes-enough said.
They have great new sets for kids or whimsical styles.
The backgrounds ROCK!
I love it all.

I love the squirrel! It helps that it is my sister's sorority mascot =) I'm planning on taking the letter backgrounds to its tail to make it patterned. There are also LOTS of "less" expensive sets I want this year. LOVE everything that goes with the On the Spot Background. I think the whole catalog is great!

I think it's pretty sad that more than half my new order will be inks and paper! I don't think they have enough new sets in the caddy this year. Nothing very interesting in the holdiay section or even though I think the kids stuff is cute, I don't think I'd make enough of those cards to spend that kind of money. Just my 2 cents worth of thought!

I like the new colors of paper, and some of the new sets, still missing some good Christmas and masculine sets. I was also hoping they would have refills for hardware hodgepodge, as I really need some of the items but not another tin taking up space in my craft room

Altogether too many knomes. Not only in a knome set, but with the lawn ornaments...Wondering why they didn't do a wizard or other Harry Potter concept....

The children are at least wearing tu-tu's, they look more normal because they are doing something instead of just staring back at you.

The wild-eyed motorcycle Santa has an example card made just for him! Now he is really crazed!

And, as much as I love squirrels, the new one is "all Tail". What do you do inside of that tail? It's big enough for the sentiment! But, he seems like a nice enough little guy.

Mixed Feelings...
Liked last year's cover better, and if they were going to go more "classic" with the cover, I have to say that I am a bit dissappointed with the vintage section... not too much there. I was really hoping to see some new "adult type" sets... I always buy whimisical type and really wanted sets that were not flowers and more appropriate for elderly aunts/ grandma, Was hoping for something to replace Gentler Times....

why 2 sets for the trading cards? They're cute for people who do a lot of swaps but most customers?

Coupon set....again, cute once in a while but I mean how many coupons can you really make?
Gnome set...I agree with everyone... terrible... and really who would you send it to?
LOVE backgrounds, new colors and new punches. Probably the most I got excited about....

Did anyone else notice that really we lost pages of stamp sets this year? We never had title pages to each section in the last couple of years. Catalog is the same amount of pages but if there are about 7 or so sections we lost almost 14-16 pages of product.... that is probably why everyone feels that there isn't too much new stuff.

So happy to see Looks like Spring and the stuff that goes with it. That was a great set. Same with Simply Said

Also agree about the masculine sets... was really hoping for a good set, non-wildlife.... most of the men in my life are not big hunters or wildlife types... I agree, a good lighthouse set or maybe another car type would have been good.

Still love the catalog... How can you not love SU! but I was a bit surprised with some of the changes and lack of some types of stamps.

Happy Stampin' !!!!!

Thumbs up

I'm so glad I wasn't the only one that actually LIKED the squirrels! It's not at the top of my list, but I can imagine some cute cards with that set.

As for the catty overall...I liked it. I was REALLY impressed with the new sample cards...more so than the new sets, I'd say. I wish SU! would tell us how to MAKE their cards (dimensions, templates, etc.), instead of just telling us which colors/stamps they use.

Anyway, bottom line: THUMBS UP from me. I'm just waiting for my hard copy to arrive so I can "study" it closer!

Ditto on the sad choice of Christmas, and masculine sets! I also noticed there is only 1 Easter set, and 8 Halloween sets. Did you see they raised the price of cardstock from $4.50 to $4.95? Not a huge increase, but it all adds up! Wish there were markers in the new colors too! Wish there was another size tag punch for layering with the other one. Enough of the negatives...... Lots of fantastic jumbo wheels, and shape punches! LOVE the level 1 hostess sets, can't decide which one to get first..... some sweet background paper, and simply scrappin' kits! I too see alot of great samples to case.
What do you think of how they changed the colored page tabs? I liked last year's with the page number on the tabs, better than this year's with the smaller color and page number at the bottom. Maybe I'm just being a little picky here, but one of my customer's noticed it riight away.
It's interesting to see the different opinions and tastes people have. The thing is SU can't please everyone, and it's a good thing we're not all alike! There are sets I look at and wouldn't think of buying. Then I see samples that are so outside-the-box and creative that I'll change my thinking. Maybe SU does business with Travelocity to keep those gnomes out there....

I'm sure you will see lots of Christmas sets in the mini -
I thought it was a great catalog, a little "something -something " for everyone
I like the skunk set and will probably order it this weekend...
I have to go look for the squirrels because I don't remember them.
I don't care for flowers so skipped that section.
Not to many masculine sets but that seems to be every year.
Lots for little kids.
The set with the yard gnomes is weird.
I've only looked on line so will probably have more comments when I can actually see and hold it right in my little hands.

Totally agree about the gnomes, squirrels, and skunks...Very Very Strange indeed.

Again disappointed about no Mardi Gras-type stamps. Have been waiting patiently for a set!

Love the new Sympathy set and will be one of the first I purchase!

Sad that there weren't 2 sizes for the tag punch...one big and one smaller for the stamp sets.

Wasn't impressed with the Christmas selection...now I have no idea what I will do for my cards this year.

Love the hostess sets! Love the new paper packs! Love the cover!

ohh I realized I wanted to say a few more things:

I think the alphabet stew is cute
love booglieyes (halloween set)

The problem with waiting for an order from the mini where Christmas stamps are concerned is that many of us like to get started on them this time of year when we have vacation time.

Wow, I feel all alone. I like the gnomes. :p After all they took all the hedgies away and those were my favorite. I haven't seen the catalog itself but now I can't wait to get mine and take a look.

Lightbulb The squirrel Set

The Squirrel stamp set, I can see making "I'm Nut's about you!" card.
Or
"I'm alittle Squirrely.....I forgot your Birthday"
Or
It's great for a Nature lover.

I can see making Nature scene's with it.

I think the set has a lot to offer.

Sometimes ya just got think outside the box.

I LOVE the new catalogue! MUCH much MUCH nicer than last year's! Last year I only had TWO stamp sets on my wish list!!!! This year there are LOADS!

- The squirrel is not me but I predict it will be a big hit on SCS!
- Booglie Eyes? Can't understand why so many people are raving about it... but then we don't really "do" Halloween over here!
- Love love LOVE Stampin' Fun for Everyone!!!! (aka KaylynConover)
- Very excited about the way SU has "modernised" its scrapbooking style - much more in keeping with the general scrapbooking trend, rather than a unique SU style which it used to be.
- Love all the new scrapbooking papers, too!
- And the chipboard! How exciting!!!
- Both Riveting and Circle of Friendship are FAB!

I could go on... suffice to say, I quite like it.

I love all those ideas - I had an idea in my head for that cute little mummy in Booglieeyes but now it's GONE - does that only happen to me?

I really like the new selection of backgrounds!
Disappointed that there are no new masculine sets, other than the very
nice Wildlife reserve.
Overall, the new catalog is wonderful--lots of variety.
I like the skunks alot. I have the set on my first order.
