There are tons of new ribbon colors in this catalog! I remember that someone figured out that there is only 1 or 2 colors that do not have a ribbon in the new catalog. (That's a far cry from last year when all the ribbons only came in the 12 getting started colors - now that was a really dumb idea.)
But the 1/2 price item doesn't start until the $400 level as opposed to other companies with a similar setup where the starting amount for the 1/2 price is a lot less.

I bought 8 rolls of ribbon from the new catalog and yes, I thought the color selection was fabulous this time around. I also bought cardstock, ink, lots of DSP, and embellishments.
I'm sure once I see a few really good samples with those stamp sets....I'll end up going in for a few. I don't even waste my money on the cheap ribbon, paper, and embellishments in the craft chains, so it is easy to spend a chunk here and there throughout the year when you don't spend money on other products. The color coordinating is second to none!
I use primarily the "regular" grosgrain ribbon. I know most of the colors are covered if you factor in the fancy/striped/polka-dotted/ruffled/scalloped/seam binding types of ribbon, but I'd love just some plain ol' ribbon in all the colors.

I think my tastes literally change with the weather as I do most of my SU shopping through the mini. Happens every time! Lots of cute stuff in the big catty that I'll probably get at some point, but nothing is screaming BUY MEEEEE!
I love the new catalog AND the new hostess program! The 50% off any item at the higher level is very cool. My sister used it for a new color caddy stamp pad rack and extra hostess dollars for the extender! She never would have been able to do that on the old program.
I also like it that the Hostess sets are discounted - you get more set for the money if you spend your hostess dollars on those sets, but you are not limited to them.

I'm VERY much a seasonal stamper:-) I'm all about bright colors and fun right now...sure to change into fall:-) The holiday mini always kills me and I'm sure this one will too!!! I can't wait to see it. That's BAD since the new big catalog JUST came out, lol!
There is an example in the middle of pages 126-127. It is a shadowbox with a "beautiful layout" and a "flirtatious sweater".

What I am curious about is the white doilies in the back of the shadowbox!!! I have checked the supply list and it lists supplies used to make the other items on the page but not the shadowbox itself.
How do you think they made those doilies in the background? Is is a digital thing? I have not tried out the digital products yet. They look like they match the doily stamp set but different sizes. It also looks like they are cut out. I love the look but can't figure out what to buy to match it!
Also, the examples in this catalog are so great. Someone may have already posted the link but I thought it is worth sharing: 2011-2012 Catalog Examples Supply List
So who can figure out those shadowbox doilies????
;-)

Are they from the flirtatious DSP that has laser cut doilies in them? I don't have them so I don't know if they come in white or if they are white on the back side. They sure do look like those doilies though....
ETA: Could it also just be a placemat or something they bought, not something they actually made??? I'm wondering that. My OLD babysitter used to have placemats like that....
Aren't the doilies from the flirtatious DSP color on one side and white on the other? If so that is probably what they used in the above example. I haven't seen them IRL tho.
I am in so much trouble!! I just got my catty today and so far I have over $175 of must have stamps and I am not even past page 150 - I must say I only have 3 or 4 current stamp sets - which just goes to show that in the last few years I've mostly bought accessories and paper with an occasional stamp set - for me this catty changes all that!! That doesn't count the paper and ribbon I need ---er want LOL - my bank account cringes!!
As to the hostess program -- I was so sick of not likeing many of the level 1 sets available in the past that I'm excited to try something different.
The funny thing is that they only used the white side, as far as I can see, in the catalog examples. Personally, I wish they were all white! Much more versatile.

I wish I could order a pack that was ONLY the die cut designs! Thanks SO MUCH to everyone for solving my mystery!
I want to place an order so bad! But it seems like everyone in this house needs new shoes! And shoes for adolescent boys are not cheap!
It's funny, I've had my catty for almost a month now, and just this morning I was looking at it (again!) and started drooling over a stamp set that I'd hardly noticed at first. So the list just gets longer. And now all the doily stuff is starting to call my name.

No, shoes are not cheap! Bass Factory Outlet....buy 1 pr. get 2 free. Now, one pair will cost you $65, but now you have 3 pairs of quality shoes for $65?
Well, I am way behind you ladies as I just received my Idea Book in the mail yesterday. Is it true demonstrators are not allowed to mail them out until July 1st?
I do think I will enjoy the new hostess program better with having more choices. In the past I have had to select multiple sets for certain levels and then give them away as blog candy.
