Number 3 with blackvelvet under the white lacy ribbon. Please Post the bride's selection for us!

These are all lovely, but I went with the first one the one with the ribbon in between the panels. It seems to be the winner!! You did a wonderful job with them all!! Good luck with the wedding and your invites, I know this will be a lovely event.
By number 3, I meant the one with brain on one end. SATC.

Okay. I'm trying to figure out why I liked #3 the best. To me, #1 looked like the braiding was breaking something up because it was in between the black lines. #2 just didn't really fit together with the layout -- too asymmetrical for something that is supposed to be about union (and it reminded me a little of a garter because it was shorter). #3, however, reminded me most of a wedding band -- of two parts being brought together by the braided piece. Does that make any sense at all?
No matter what you choose, they will be lovely, and what a wonderful thing to do for your neice. How very special to have handmade wedding invitations created by an artist who loves you! She's a lucky girl.
Thanks so much for all your feedback! Wow Carole....It's nice to get your feedback with an explanation on how you arrived at it....I didn't even think about that.....I will point that out to Shari.
I voted for no 2 (3 on your poll) because I think the braid shows up best against the black rather than the other two against the white! They are all lovely though!
They are all quite beautiful but my vote goes for the braid on the left but I also love the first one. They are gorgeous...fer sure not the braid going accross the white.
Okay, Cindy -- I've been thinking about this. Not sure if you're interested in making any alterations, but have you considered taking the design from the 1st photo, and instead of wrapping the braiding around the outside black layer, shortening the braiding to where you wrapped it around the interior black layer? That way, I think you get the idea of union signified by the braiding (implying the wedding band), without breaking apart the black border which ties the whole design together. Does this make sense?
This may be way more input than you desire, but it was just a thought!
Carole...I definately like that idea better plus it would save on a little bit of braid. The black pieces are two separate pieces but it doesn't really matter because all I would have to do is keep the black piece bigger with a space for the braid in between and mount the white pieces on the bigger black piece. Would be less cutting too.... I will explain that to Shari and see what she thinks. I like the idea lot. Thanks again...makes perfect sense!
Oh this one is tough! Is there any way the bride could help choose?
Oh yeah...she is coming over Tuesday night....she basically has the final word but I am sure she will value all of the opinions here! I appreciate everyone's help!
Location: in my own little world... they like me here!

Hi Cindy...
I love all three of them but I voted for the first one.
Your niece is so blessed to have you as an aunt. What a special thing to do for her! :-)
Rubber Hugs,
Renee

She chose the one in the first photo but with one change as suggested by TruCarMa. We are going to shorten the braid and wrap it around the the inside black panel instead of the outside black panel. I tried one last Tuesday and showed it to her on Wednesday and she loved it...So there you go, now I just have to get busy and make them! I told her about the vote and explained to her that the one she picked was the front runner in my SCS vote!
I vote for the first sample. My daughter also wanted very simple cards which we made for her wedding about three years ago. We used ivory cardstock with a large gold embossed wedding cake on the fronts of the cards. We tied thin black satin ribbon in a bow around the folded (vertical) side of the cards and used translucent ivory shadow stripe vellum with the wedding's details printed on the inside of the cards. Those were printed in black ink at Kinko's for a very reasonable fee. We adhered them to the inside page at the top only by punching two holes through both layers and running the black ribbon through to make a "no tie bow". We got lots of compliments for these elegant cards.

They sound beautiful! Thank you for sharing the details!
