I made a masculine card that I want to add some embellishments to. All I can think of when it comes to embellishments are the girly ones....what else is there for men?

Reason: Bad link
I took a piece of chipboard and inked with white craft ink and then used clear EP, then applied ballet blue craft ink over the white which was a little rough. Don't coat the blue all over, leave nooks and crannies of white showing and emboss that layer too. Now add navy and a last coat of EP. when you heat this it should be pretty smooth and resemble enamelware. Goes well with camping, rustic and cowboys. I need to find a pic.
Dang! These are way too cute! I am going to incorporate these into another card today if I can get my hands on some cork! I have some Magic Mesh....oh thank you, Happy Heart!

Ladies, I wish I could share a pic, but I cannot find the memory card for my camera....(my son has been borrowing my camera for his digital photog class, and I think he knows where it's at, but he's gone at the moment) :(
The colors are navy, rust, chocolate brown, natural and a tiny bit of old olive. It has a central image and a saying...I know that does not describe it well but at least you know what the colors are. It's the image of the apples from the father set in our mini catalog.

Just another idea or two. I like dew drops. They come in so many colors that you are bound to find something that works. Also, I use jute or hemp cording in leu of ribbon on my masculine cards. Sometimes I will tie it around a tag or I will loop it around the cardstock a couple of times. I have also tied it on a clip.
FABULOUS ideas, ladies! If I can keep all of these in mind, I will use them when I make Father's Day Cards for the people at my office who need to buy a card last minute - in this town, I know they save time and gas by getting them at work...the traffic is horrible anytime you go near the malls, and my cards are more cute anyway! ;-) (heheheh)

I found a couple of overall buckles (you know, how you adjust the straps on overalls?) and some striped denim overall material in some of my grandma's sewing things. No doubt these were extras that she kept in case any of my grandpa's overalls needed mending or a patch. I'm holding onto them because I think they'll be great for a guy card.
You can take a gold or silver brad, place a screw driver over the top and lightly hammer the indent in the top of the brad to make it look like a screw!
if you have any stamping images for hinges; you could use the faux wood technique and stamp your hinges on that and cut out. Great topic to watch further postings on, tfs
Here's the tutorial for faux wood: http://inkstainswithroni.blogspot.co...faux-wood

I'm working on a Father's Day mini album today. I was really stumped, because I usually add dimension with flowers and bright brads. Thanks for reminding me of my screw brads and other nice ideas! Now I can get back to work and finally mail this out! :-D
Hodgepodge Hardware, brads, eyelets, jumbo eyelets, and frankly, depending on the man, if you really do a lot of flowers, I think SU's Flower Fusion works. I made a birthday card for a man the other day and actually used ribbon tied in a bow (!) with flower fusion and a cool brad attached to the center. It was a scenery-type image, it really didn't look girly - and he's hardly the tough-guy type anyway.

MissIowa, you beat me to it! I thought of a tattered scrap of denim, either used as an embellie in some way, or perhaps, as a layer to frame the top CS. pc. Large, uneven stitches, real or faux would be good, too.
May God bless, Sandi
