Maybe something about chips off the old block... wow that's a lot of chips... something like this? Sorry I can't come up with a specific line right now, my brain is fried!

42 cookies with chocolate chips
guaranteed not to find your hips.

42 cookies with chocolate so sweet
one for each year...Such a wonderful treat.

With chocolate chips, is there any better way?

Oh....I didn't realize it was for your DH! You might want to change one line in the poem.....

instead of:
guaranteed not to find your hips

to:

guaranteed to sweeten your lips!

Might make it little more appropriate for hubby, plus men don't really have trouble with things going to their hips!
