Default Need Ideas for tons of small gifts

Hi everyone...
My husband & I want to go door to door inviting everyone to our church. We thought it would be really nice if I made some gifts to hand out to the people we talk to along with either a bus. card or some flier that explains about the church and where it is. I would appreciate all ideas thought of, easy & cheap would be best... But any ideas at this time would be great! I appreciate your help in advance!
God Bless!
Rachel

nugget tents? They're faster than making the boxes, and only hold one or two nuggets each, rather than the 3+ for the boxes.

Do you have a die cutting machine? If you so can get a die that is one of the Sizzix BigZ that are mini gable boxes. you can get 3 or 4 out of a sheet of paper and then you could stamp the side with god bless or something along those lines and put a hersey hug and kiss inside.. you could attach your churches info via a tag on the handle. If you catch a sale at Michael's you can get the die for under 20 bucks.

P.S. If you want to see a picture of what they look like PM your email and i'll take a picture and send it to you.

I think the nugget tents are a bit of work for only one or two nuggets - ha I guess i just like my chocolate!
Bookmarks would be super easy and fast, magnets, any kind of treat (sucker flowers for example) would probably go over well - I would stick to store bought candy since you may be giving these to people that you don't know well.

These are all great ideas. Here's a bump for input from someone far more creative than I am!

I think the nugget tents are great and I have also made them with hershey kisses inside. You could also do the gum packets or covers for flat suckers. (Pictures of both in my gallery). Those are easy and not real expensive.

Other ideas...popcorn packets/cocoa packets as you can get a lot of "info" printed on the front from the computer.

Good luck

How about a cello bag? You can fill it with your church info, perhaps a little prayer book, a business card that lists when services are held, groups that might hold their meetings at your church or events and social functions that the church might offer, a list of charities that the church has donated to, a list of volunteer positions open at your church? You can put confetti or crinkled paper in it to fill it up. That way, you aren't having to 'make' a box. Plus, you can use a bag as big or as small as you want it. You could even do this with a Zip-Lock bag too - they have the small snack size ones that might work. There are a TON of samples in the gallery - just do a search on cello bags a whole lot of pics will come up!

While I love a great chocolate, some people won't appreciate it coming from someone they don't know. Kind of like a reverse trick or treat - if I don't know you and you showed up at my door to give me food, I'm not going to touch it, regardless of the fact you are from a church - KWIM? Not saying ANYTHING negative towards you or your church - it's just the society we now live in.

Whatever you decide to do - POST IT so we can all see it!!! ;)

Hey there! There are alot of ideas on here! Great! I'm going to research different ones to see what I like best! One person mentioned not to give chocolate or food b/c they wouldn't eat it... should I take that advice?
PS I don't know how to do that "bump" thing... Where would I go?

If it is a flyer, you could roll it, tie it with ribbon, stamp, punch out and attach a tag. It is simple and inexpensive.

tee hee... "bump" means that you are bringing this thread to the forefront again to get more visability, say after a period of inactivity has gone by.

I was going to say magnets! I've gone to frame shops and asked for leftover/scraps of mat board. Sometimes I've even gotten beautiful "velvety" ones. Anyways...I stamp a scripture or image on white cardstock and crop it down to the size I want and then layer it on two pieces of matboard. Add a magnet to the back and you are done!

I agree with not giving chocolate ... even though you are doing it as a nice gesture, some people will not see it that way and may be leary of food ... that's just my opinion. If someone that I didnt know came to my door and gave me chocolate, I wouldnt eat it ... like a poster above said, that's just because of the society we live in today ...

You can "bump" a post up to the top by posting another reply to that post ... so sometimes a person will just type the word "bump" as a reply and that will move it back up to the top so that more people can see it.

I gave a bunch of small gifts of pop-corn. I made a little folder that it slipped in and on my computer, I typed, "Poppin' in to say thank you!"

They thought it was cute.

Great idea with the popcorn! I could change that and say "Poppin" in to say Hello! or something like that!

Ok, I think I have an idea, I was searching ideas about the popcorn and I saw lots of very cute ideas for the jiffy-pop type of popcorn... I LOVE IT!
SO I think I will start some of this later this week! Thanks again for everyone's help! I couldn't have gotten this idea without all of you!

Default Lip Balm?

I really like the lip balm 'holders' over in the gallery. As a matter of fact...I like them SO much that I just ordered 50 lip balms from eBay (Avon brand) for $21.00.

I don't know how much you want to spend or how many homes you are going to but 50 seems like a lot and $21 isn't bad.
