I'm new here so I apologize if this is the wrong area to post this question...I'm looking for some ideas on how to incorporate my children's picture into our Christmas card...any suggestions would be appreciated! :-D thanks!
I posted the same thing a few days ago and got no replies. I have looked everywhere and searched the net but have come up empty handed. I have really been thinking about it and I am leaning towards a flat card instead of a folded. I thought that I could embellish it and everything and it would resemble what you would order from a photo center(the pic and text that almost everyone sends out) but hopefully be way more cute.
I hope that you get some more ideas and samples posted.
Instead of a photo card, last year I made a photo CD. I just used a wallet size on the CD and added a ribbon to the back to make it a hanger, so it could also be an ornament.
You can check it out in my gallery. It's an Asian theme, but you can do any you'd like to match the photo.
Just an idea.

I saw the prettiest photo cards made with Hero Arts new flourishes in their winter catalog. They stamped the flourish in white pigment ink on red or green textured cardstock, then used an exacto to cut along one side of the flourish (following the curve) and then slipped one corner of the photo into the slit. So pretty. I'll see if I can take a picture to post.
Here's a link to a card using one of the flourishes. Imagine trimming along the edge of the flourish and slipping a photo corner into the slit. Hope this helps!
I made two card designs this year that incorporate a wallet size picture. The pics on the cards currently aren't what I am using... I will actually use a sepia toned pic of my girls together, but you can still get the general idea. Here is the links to those cards: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

Thanks for the samples! They are so cute! Did you just score the bottom-glue it and then did the ribbon?
Here is mine from year before last. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Last year I cheated and just purchased photo cards.
This year I'm going to do this card and add a black and white photo above the penguin. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
If you check my gallery, I just posted a card that my demo did last year - I just love the layout. I gave the dimensions and posted a pic of it both closed and open so you could get an idea of how to do it. Unfortunately, I don't know how to include a link in a reply (ugh!! I've been trying to figure it out and just can't get it right!) but it is in my gallery. HTH!

Here's one I CASED from a scrapbook layout in the IB&C! Let me know if you have questions!
I don't have a picture of the ones I'm doing this year, but the layout is very similar to this. It is basically a horizontal postcard - it doesn't open. Its the size of a card front (white) with a smaller (hunter) layer on top of that. B&W wallet picture, some red ribbon and a white tag. I cut the layers with a deckle edge rotary cutter. They are turning out very cute. I'll maybe get brave and post a pic on here... someday.
I am doing a folded card w/ a pocket inside for a wallet. I have one made, just need batteries for the camera!! Been meaning to post it to get opinions before I get started making them...ugh...I'm so behind!!!
I gave it one last try ... let's see if I was successful in posting a link..
I did a card just like this one last year, but with a wallet picture, co it would fit in an invitation size envelope. I embossed the stamp from All Year Cheer 1 - The Peave, Love, Joy. Of course I don't have one to show because I gave them all away. I got hte idea from the same demonstrator as Vicki though. I miss her! She moved to Indiana!!
Wow! Thank you to Blizlady for posting all the links to some beautiful cards!
It's too late for me this year's cards, but I'm definitely inspired for next year!
I am looking for ideas for cards this year. I also like to incorporate a picture in my xmas cards... Any other ideas- I love the ones listed here so far!
If I ever get around to doing my Christmas cards I'd love to do a pop-up card and and a photo! I think it would be too cute! Now to finish my 70 name frams & 8 card tins for our PTO fundraiser and then I'll think about Christmas Cards! here's the instructions I'm going to use.......
