Question Need help with Crystal Effects

I am trying to get a head start on my Christmas cards and was wanting to use crystal effects on my ornaments. I made a sample card last night and let it dry. When I looked at it today, it looks like it is scratched and not at all clear and shiny. I used WW paper--do I need to use glossy instead? It is around 95 degrees and very humid here in Germany and there is no air conditioning--could that be the problem? Many thanks for your help.

I don't know the answer, but the heat and humidity may be the problem. Hugs to you for dealing with the H&H with no A/C!

Gosh, I've never had this product stay cloudy. You can get "scratch" marks if you are brushing it on in a thin coat. If I want a smooth look I just make a puddle in the middle of the image and barely move it around with a toothpick for coverage. The puddle process does take ages to dry. I've used mine in hot and cooler temps without issue but with low humidity. I *suspect* the moisture in the air is preventing it from working properly. I go in waves in using this product and have used an open bottle that was a year+ old. So, I don't think age would be an issue.

Thanks for all your help. I think it is the humidity with the WW paper. After I posted, I made another sample card using the glossy paper and it turned out fine. The bottle of crystal effects is less than 2 months old and I applied it using the "drop and let it sit overnight" method because of the recommendations I have read here on SCS. So.... I guess my Christmas cards will be made with glossy paper this year.
It is very hot here, but I just remember our soldiers in the Middle East and I am grateful I can wear shorts and stay inside if I want. Most places do not have air conditioning--even the movie theaters. --pool, here we come!
