Amy Schwartz announced on main stage today that on National Card Making Day (sometime in October) Stampin' Up! is encouraging demonstrators to hold card-making classes. The demonstrator will fill out a form with all of the information about their class (where, when, etc.) and then SU will post all of the card classes on the website. So a customer could come to the website, find a class near their home and call the demonstrator to attend. I think this is a unique way to market our businesses and I'm excited for it!

Excited!
This sounds like an exciting thing! The wheels are turning! I am thinking about making this an all Christmas card class! Kick off the holiday card making season with a bang! I am getting more excited just thinking about it! I usually only do my classes during the week and during the day but this could be an awsome time to include the ladies who work - I better plan it early! I off to think and plan so more!
Have a great day!

It's my anniversary. Do you think my husband would mind if I held classes instead?? LOL
Traci
Traci,
It's my anniversary also, but my husband will be working nights so we won't be making any plans so I guess I'll have to have a class. Good luck with planning one Traci. Pam

The "National" and "World" stamping, scrapping, etc. days are marketing tools of various companies. If you look at the websites, you will see the names of the 'sponsors'. I got all hyped up in another hobby, about such a day. Eventually found out that it was a day promoted by one particular magazine.
They can be lots of fun, to focus activities on a particular 'day' or 'week'. Just be aware of the origin- it will nearly always be a marketing group, a company, etc etc.
I'm with you. Give me Dega tickets and I would be there in an instant. You sound perfectly normal to me!!;)

I'm a CTMH consultant and I'd be happy to give you the scoop about National Stamping Day/Month.
CTMH did all the legal work and created the holiday. National Stamping Month is September and the National Stamping Day is the second Saturday in September. We have great celebrations/specials planned.
I'm sure it will end up much like National Scrapbook Day. I'm sure someone (CM?) did the legal work to get it started, but it has expanded way beyond that.
I think it's supposed to be on Saturday, October 6th. The website above listed it as the 7th.
that's the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend .. I don't know how many people will be around and wanting to do a stamp class. Most here go away or have family come to them for the weekend ...
I would love to go to Talladega but I guess Bristol will work for me and I can do a Stamp day on the 6th of October. Several of my customers already want to know what I am planning for Fall. I am just trying to get through the summer.

Stampin' and Racin'
I would love a trip to Talladega but will enjoy Richmond in September! I will stamp in October!
My ladies are buggin' me about Christmas! I am still enjoying summer break and haven't started thinking about Fall or Christmas! I wish these ladies would relax and enjoy the season we are in. They are as bad as the shopping malls!

GatorStamper - How about that win by Tony on Sunday! We are all laughing and repeating Tony's great comment during his great victory speech! Love Tony - he says what he means and means what he says! Love it!
Sorry to hijack!

I am planning my first big, all day event! I am going to reserve the breakfast room at a local hotel and invite everyone I know, as well as, advertise my event locally. I am thinking of setting up stations for 6 different cards. I'm not sure of the pricing yet, maybe $20 for the projects and a light lunch. I am completely afraid of the undertaking, and scared of failure...but I am on my Convention high and am forcing myself to DREAM BIG! Good luck to all of you that are planning something. We should keep in touch...it will be fun to see how our events go!
IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!!! I''m soo excited to have a "National" Holiday on my Birthday....I don't mind sharing!!! I heard the announcement at convention and am getting so pumped!!! Maybe I'll have my customers make one of their cards be for Me! I haven't decided what to do yet but I want it to be Big! I'm Dreaming Big...
One of the girls in my side line was also getting married that day too!! It's a busy weekend...

I am having a free stamping event on 8/26 to let my customers know I appreciate them (and to hopefully get some sales as many have not seen the new catty yet; the past few months have been emotionally rough for me and I am ready to re-start.)
Anyway, attendees will make 2 cards to keep and have an option to make a third card for me to keep (My birthday, wedding and SU anniversaries are all in August making it a month to celebrate.)
I'll try to remember to post an update after my event.
