Found two Archivers. Don't know how close they will be to our hotel. We're staying at the Intercontinental KC at the Plaza. The info says there is a big mall right there, but would love to see stamp/scrap places.
Friends are like the walls of a house. Sometimes they hold you up, sometimes you lean on them. But sometimes, it's enough to know they're just standing by.

Oh you will just be a block or two from Paper Source!
You might want to check out this site. You will be right there.

I was just there last weekend for the Scrapbook convention with my niece. I did pick up a post card advertisement about "Wishes of the Heart" in Bonner Springs, KS. My niece said it was pretty close. But not sure how close exactly. It is a Victorian House that you can rent for crops. They serve meals even. It says it has "expansive retail".
I dont know if its open all the time or just when it has crops.
Stamper's Ink in Shawnee, KS. It's on Shawnee Mission Parkway and Quivira. This is the biggest stamping store I know in the KC area. Here's a link to their website.
They have a selection of Bellas, Copics, some Nesties, and tons of other stamps (super huge selection!).

Bonner Springs is not close to Plaza Intercontinental. It is half way to Lawrence! Not close, but a quaint little town. Has an antique mall and an outlet center near too! You know, there are lots of non scrapping things to see in Kansas City, say the Atkins art museum, westport, Swope Park, ....

i agree with blake's mom you have to see stampers ink in shawnee. its 5 minutes from I-35 and shawnee mission parkway. I love stampers ink !! maybe 20 minutes from the plaza.
You couldn't be staying in a nicer area than you are if you will be in the Plaza. If it would be just a little later in the year, it would all be decorated for the holidays and there are many stores and great restaurants in walking distance. I'm thinking one we went to there was the Cheesecake Factory. My son used to live in Lee's Ferry, which is just across the river in Missouri, all of this within an easy driving distance. I never did get out and check out the stamping stores that other's on here have mentioned but their suggestions sounded worthwhile. There is also a riverboat casino if you get too bored. Either way, sounds like you should have a great time.

Is the Stamp Patch in Lee's Summit still open? That would be fairly easy to get to from the Plaza I would think.
Denise
Yes, Stamp Patch is still open, but Lee's Summit will be quite a drive from the Plaza. I went earlier this year and the store size is about 1/3 of what it used to be (I first found them a long time ago and they used to have tons more space and stuff).
In my opinion, Stampers Ink has a much larger selection and would be much closer to the Plaza. And be sure to walk around and check out stuff on the Plaza! Neat restuarants and lots of "normal" (non-stamping) shopping. : )

Ya'll are awesome! We do have lots of other things planned while we are in KC. My husband is from Columbia, Mo. originally so we are going to visit some of his friends there. He will be attending conference meetings during the day so I will 'explore' while he is busy. If any of these are on the way into town from KC International Airport let me know and we'll just stop on the way to the hotel. Being a Florida girl, I'm hoping for some real Fall weather. Will appreciate any suggestions you make.
I grew up in K.C. and do hope to move back there in the next year or so, it's a wonderful place to visit. I hope you have a wonderful time I'm so jealous of you.

One of the Archiver's stores is located on your way into town from KCI. You can actually see the backside of the store (and it's sign) if you're looking as you head south on I-29. You'd exit at Barry Road and go East (should be left) and then you'll almost immediately turn left (North) at a stoplight that is by Applebee's/On the Border/Wendy's (can't remember the name of the road - sorry! I live on the Kansas side of KC now). Follow the road North and you'll pass a car dealership and Wal-Mart and there will be a shopping complex on the North side of the road (across the street from Wal-Mart) and Archiver's in that shopping complex.
Stamper's Ink is south of the Plaza like someone else said off of I-35 and Shawnee Mission Parkway. It's probably 20 minues or less from the Plaza.
Stamp Patch is in Lee's Summit and is even farther south and east of Stamper's Ink. It's probably 40 minutes to an hour from the Plaza.
If you can get a GPS, it would be super helpful. : ) Otherwise, I would recommend mapquest for directions from your hotel.

Yipeeeee! Archiver's on the way to the hotel!! Poor hubby - not really, he spoils me like many of the other stamping spouses I would suppose. He is happy that I enjoy a hobby that keeps me off of the streets and out of the bars (for the most part) ;-0
Who needs a GPS when you have a southern accent and are blonde! JK.
Can't wait to get up there. You have all been so helpful. If anyone else thinks of any unique shops or other stamp/scrap places, I will continue to check back here.
