Fun foam is what was used originally, so find some 3mm fun foam and you'll be good to go. I actually bought extra when I first got my MISTI. It's very easy to cut to fit. I also put a piece under my lid to avoid stress on the lid when I'm inking my stamps. If you cut that piece the same size you can store it in your MISTI and always have it ready.
