I'm doing an ATC with a beach theme. I'm looking for different ways to stamp/create the beach as part of the background. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I took some play sand and added a pinch of glitter...put it in a dollar store salt shaker
use some mono glue (random lines) over natural cardstock. Looked really good!
I don't know how to post to a gallery or I'd show you the card.

Do you have any chalk? Chalk works great for making a beach scene. I couldn't find a picture in my gallery, but I made a scrapbook page a long time ago with it. I just used some white cardstock and a sponge to put the chalk down. I did a sand color that covered about 2/3 of the bottom, but went down at a little bit of an angle, and then I filled in over there with a good ocean blue color. Then I just sponged on some yellow for the sun, some light blue for the sky and it came out looking great!

Sandpaper. Chalk over stippled Versamark. Distress EP, can't remember the colour, because someone gave it to me rather than me buying it, but it's great for sand texture.
Distress Stickles in Antique Linen make the perfect sand! Doesn't show up well here, but this is an example card I did!
Nice card! I have one of the blue Distress Stickles because I like the color but I think the larger "crystals" in the Linen awould be ideal for sand. Can't say I like it too much in blue - I prefer the "original" Stickles.
I didn't look at the other links so maybe I'm repeating something here...but I like to use watercolors or reinkers+Shimmerz to create the water and the sand, then white acrylic paint for the waves. I posted a card with a sample today on my blog: http://mamadinis.blogspot.com/2009/0...each-card
The EP is by StampNStuff and it is called Golden Sand.
Thank you. I printed this out and placed it with next week's Michael's coupon (40% off one reg. priced item) because I will be near one on Monday. Not sure if I will buy it yet because I am (still) packing my supplies to get our house ready for listing but all that work means I need at least a window shopping break!
