I prefer to spend my money on supplies rather than storage whenever possible.
This is how I store my markers:
Currently all my Copics are in either boxes that some of my punches came in, or containers from Crate Paper and American Crafts chipboard.
Eventually, I think I will have everything in my glamorous toilet paper rolls.
I just happen to have cubbies that the tp rolls fit into, but you can easily create your own custom tp marker holders to fit in a cardboard box. I just glued all the tp holders together, and voila, free marker holders.
I haven't found it necessary, but if you wanted your holder to lean back a bit, all you would have to do is cut a few strips of cardboard and glue it onto the bottom front of the box.
If the ugly toilet paper rolls bother you, you can always tart them up a bit with something from your stash. You are after all crafty people!
Don't know if this has been shown before, but I thought I'd share.
Oh my gosh I LOVE this - I am going to be a toilet roll hoarder from hence forth LOL :-)
Oh and you could cover them with pretty papers too...and to think I threw one in the recycling bin today...I'm off to retrieve it to start my collection...
very cute. I"m thinking maybe covering the TP roll with the color family you are putting the markers in. Some cute red patterned paper for red markers, I think thats such a cute idea.
I see Im not the only one LOL. I've had my prisma colored pencil like that for a couple of years. I just have mine standing in a plastic container. The whole container actually has about 2inches of dried white beans in it, (as weird as that sounds) to have everything stand up. I saw the bean idea somewhere along time ago, not sure where. I actually put colored cardstock around the toilet paper roll, for color groups. Works great.
That is a great idea. I go through lots of Crystal Light, so I am always thinking of a way to utilize the plastic containers they come in. They are actually oval size now instead of round. I think I might adapt this method of storage to using them. The plastic label on them comes right off, so it leaves you with a plain white container to decorate up.

Thanks for sharing.
I just put an oval Crystal Light container in my craft cabinet thinking that there had to be a use for it! We go through CL pretty often, I like to mix it with my iced tea...yum! I think I will be doing this with the containers.
I love this idea, I have a similar way to store mine for free only I used empty Crystal light holders and covered them with wrapping paper and tied a pyramid of them together with ribbon. Presto chango gotta love the free organization!
TP rolls really come in handy these days. LOL. I use Slim Jim containers for my Copics. I cover the container with deco paper & put the lid on the bottom of the container so I can see the colors. The markers fit perfectly. When I need to take them to a friend's house, or a crop, I put the lid back over the top and throw it into my bag.
Maybe we could cut the tubes in half and use them for our Stickles! I think I have an empty tube in the garbage right now. I'll have to try it. I know they make a Stickle holder, but you are limited to where to put it. This would take care of that problem. Great idea Jennifer!

Oh THANK YOU!!! Just last night I was going thru my markers and glue pens and dazzlers and thought...there just HAS to be a better way to store my pens and markers without spending a small fortune...and I have LOTS of Crystal Light containers that have been begging to be put to use!!!
Fantastic idea! I did something like that for a while, too. I didn't have enough TP rolls to start, so I cut down some gift wrapping tubes. Worked like a charm. I really like keeping my Copic markers horizontal so I can see the color name on the cap, at a glance.

Thanks for sharing such a great idea. Think I'll now become a tp roll collector

This is great! I don't have a ton of toilet paper holders, but I live on Crystal light and have been saving those round plastic containers for at least a year. It would be very easy to glue them together and use them for my markers! I knew I was saving them for something!!!!
Goals for 2015 50 scrapbook pages/50 cards---progress 35/50 cards Complete my daughter's wedding scrapbook album Spend more time enjoying my friends and not so much time obsessing on work!!!

I found a free way to store all my bottles of stickles and alcohol inks......check here to see what I used!
What a GREAT idea, I am using plastic cups, but they are too big for my container, so guess who is now going to save the tp rolls : ) Thanks for sharing, wonderful idea!

For those of you with a supply of Crystal Light (round) containers....I have been using them to store ten to twelve 2 - 2 1/2" rolls of ribbon. I used a hobby knife to cut a 1/2" slit on the side of the container, about 3/8" from the top and the bottom. Then just stacked the spools in the container, and fed part of the ribbon through the slit. It's helped me organize all those smaller spools of ribbon....you can't ever have enuf ribbon!
