What would be your vote for the best magazine to get for card making ideas? I currently get Creating Keepsakes, but there are hardly any cards shown there. I'm interested in subscribing to another mag, but I'm just not sure which one showcases the most and best card ideas.
Thanks!
Paper Crafts is usually the only magazine I buy... that being said I just bought a copy of Paper Creation... mainly because I recognized so many of the names inside! I gotta support my peeps!
I gave up my magazine subscriptions and joined the fan club instead. I get most of my inspiration from SCS, the galleries and the fantastic tutorials - and I get search for specific themes/sets/companies.
That said, I do sometimes buy a copy of Paper Crafts, so if I had to vote for just one, that would be it!
Card Maker is good. My store had a bunch of sample copies and when they went to get rid of them, they gave them to me - I like having something to look at held in my hand...to drift off to sleep with sometimes, so while I love SCS, my computer is on a desk, not in my bed...I would go to the closest craft store and flip thru some mags and see what appeals to you most, unless you live way out in the country and in that case, I would subscribe to all mentioned here!!! Have fun.
I like Paper Crafts and CARDS. CARDS is kind of pricey to subscribe to, but is gorgeous. They don't focus as much on stamping, although there is definitely some in there. I like to try to pick it up at Michael's with a coupon - they sell fast in my store!

Hands down Cards magazine is the best. They have a special running right now that if you give a 12 month subscription for a gift you get a 12 month subscription for yourself free- so if you have a friend to split it with it works out quite reasonable. The quality of magazine is top notch. I gave a subscription to my best friend for her b-day & she loves it- she tells me each month that it is one of her favorite gifts of all time.
I like a lot of them..subscribe to CardMaker, Crafts n Things and Papercrafts.
Papercrafts has a lot of cards that are not stamped but I love the ideas (since i am not good at scrappy cards)
I also browse through a lot of other ones at my lss. If one every catches my attention, I buy it too!
I really like Paper Crafts. I enjoy Cards as well but it is a little out of my budget. I agree with Laurie, I like having something is my hand to cuddle with as a fall asleep at night! I really think I have better dreams...
Mrs.Q..... Have you subscribed to the Splitcoast Fan Club? You get way more ideas there each month that in any magazine. AND you get all the previous issues going back to 2004.
Thanks so much for the suggestions everyone. There were a couple of magazines mentioned that I had not heard of, so I will check them out!
I do agree, while I love SCS and the gallery, I love to have something in my hands that I can look through while I'm in bed or getting cozy on the couch!
Well, I picked up a couple of OLD Simply Sentiments at my local scrapbook store. I went back to buy more and the scrapbook store does not sell monthly issues anymore. I plan to subscribe to this magazine ASAP.
Also...Did you know that Rubber Stamper is going to be merged into Crafts N things? I believe that is the right publications)...
Crafts N things promised to have at least 71 (I think) papercrafting ideas in each issue, beginning in January.
don't order Simply sentiments, there is no magazine anymore. we didn't even get all of our magazines from last years subscriptions.....

I love Paper Trends, but the most helpful magazine I get is the Stampin Success magazine that only SU demos receive. It contains great articles, and all kinds of fun samples.

I'm with Kay. I did have a subscription to Paper Crafts, but let it expire. I will purchase a copy only if there is a project or template that I just can't do without. There is so much talent here at SCS, and more ideas, techniques, templates, resources, etc. than most magazines can offer. I have been a fan club member for a couple years now and just love the ideas posted each month.
Well, I went into town last night and picked up a copy of Papercrafts. It's really nice, but I'm a little disappointed in the amount of filler. Out of 114 pages, I counted about 50 of those pages filled with just ads or title pages with no cards or projects on them:(
Everyone gave such great suggestions, so I will keep checking them all out until I find 'the one'
Card Maker is good currently have a sub. I had a sub to Rubber Stamper and am so sad it has changed hands. I have a feeling that I will not be as happy with the replacment mag as it will not focus solely on Rubber Stamping and cards. Stampers Sampler and Take Ten are great and I pick up one once in a while, as with Paper Crafts.
I was thinking of subscribing to Stampers Sampler but have decided to Join the SCS Fan Club. This is the best palce to get ideas for cards. Everyone here is so up to date and current. If your going to spend money on a subscription you should spend it here. That's what I'm going to do.
I received my first copy of Crafts n Things which is what merged with The Rubber Stamper effective as of the Feb 2008 issue (yeah, they released it waaaay early) and I HATE it. There are hardly any cards, and they focus on all sorts of other crafts like crochet, jewelry etc. I was so, so sad to see how little stamping they had in there.
My all time fave mag is Stampers' Sampler. A bit pricey, but they are all stamping, and not tons of filler, or other crafts.
I looked up Cards since it was mentioned a few times and just about choked. $100 for a year?????? That's insane. Totally insane. Never going to happen on my budget.

I once subscribed to PaperCrafts, but it started to have too many 'projects' (paint cans, party supplies, etc.) and not enough plain card ideas. (Let me clarify...I like simple cards with a few key embellishments and not the "collage-style" cards.) I do get a lot of ideas from Take Ten.
Overall, I find it cheaper to use my 40% off coupon at JoAnn's or Michaels' and just get a magazine when it looks interesting or has a good idea.
If you like easy cards you much get Take 10...I comes out every quarter and no commercials. Every page is cards and more cards. This mag focuses on stamped cards. I just love it. I also like Stampers Sampler but somethings to the cards are a little too artsy for me.

My vote is for Stampers Sampler and Take Ten magazines. I let my PaperCrafts magazine subscription expire after 4 yrs. I never tire of the Stampington & Co publications.
I don't subscribe to magazines anymore, I usually just pick up issues at the store if I see one that has alot of what I like in it. But, I do always check out Paper Crafts, Cards!, and there's one called Scrap & Stamp Arts that has alot of cards in it sometimes. It's by the same publisher as Just Cards!, their yearly subscription rate is kind of high, but like I said before, I just buy by the issue (and they aren't as high as Just Cards! issue price) if only it has alot of what I'm looking for in it. I've never heard of Take Ten, I'll have to check it out too.

Every once in awhile...buy a Papercrafts, Take Ten, Cards....
I find subscriptions are very pricey. And not every month is that great.
Once in awhile I buy Stamplers Sampler or a Stampington mag.....BUT...only with a coupon.
I find buying every other month or so....I drool over that mag just like my SU catty. Then I rip out what I want to save or try and toss or pass on.

GASP!!!
I LOVED it (and I am not biased because it was the first magazine i am published in eitherbahwahhaaa! )
Actually, I did love it because they had so many ideas--some of the other things were projects I would never have thought of but I loved them (and am going to try it)
There are LOTS of cards in this issue too...many are from SCSers---Jacksonbelle-Lindsey Botkin, mytime-Lauren Meader, and julia stainton....to name just a few!

I know, I can't believe it either! I was also shocked by the price tag of $15 each for some of the other magazines I saw.
I think one of my favorite magazine is VAMP STAMP NEWS -- its not a real glossy magazine but it has great articles on product reviews and techniques !!
