I am going to be in the UP and northwest part of Michigan next week. Three friends are biking from Escanaba along the lake to the Ludington area and I am their sag wagon. So, we are leaving from Escanaba a week from today and will end 8 days later in the Ludington area. Some stops along the way are in St. Ignace, Mackinac Island and Traverse City, staying along Lake Michigan as much as possible. Since they will be biking around 50 miles a day, I will have 4-5 hours each day to explore the area and wanted to check if there are any local stamping stores or other sites that I should be visiting along the way?
Thanks for any ideas and thoughts you can toss my way!
Hi Barbara!
My parent's have a cottage in the UP. About 3 or 4 years ago, I visited a cute little scrapbook store in St. Ignace. I can not even remember what it was called, but it was on the main drag that runs through town. It was in a shopping center on the water side of the road. LOL! Sorry for the horrible directions! Maybe someone who lives around that area can speak up and help out. I hope it is still there, but who knows with the economy the way it is.
This is probably too late to be useful but the store in St Ignace closed about a year ago. The only other ones I know about in the UP are Creative Spirits in Ironwood and Northwoods in Calumet but both are quite a distance from where you were.
But if you found any others, be sure to post about them.
