I am looking for a liquid mask that peels off paper. I found Grafix incredible white liquid mask at hobby lobby. Did not know if I should by it. Did an Amazon search and this showed up.
What masking fluid do you recommend and where to buy it.
Sorry for any spelling errors. Using my fire to post. Sitting on sofa with ice on my knee.
I use Pebeo Drawing Gum. It has the most revolting smell, making it off putting to use, but it is effective. I would recommend getting the smallest size bottle.

I have the Winsor-Newton one too. The only trouble I have had is with user error, not waiting until the piece was fully dry to remove the mask.
I am anticipating the same user error

Another tip, which I think I learnt from Dina. Personally I have always found it almost impossible to clean a brush properly after using masking fluid. I now use Colour Shapers, originally designed, as far as I remember from when they launched on the market in the 90s, to add texture to oil and acrylic paint. Amazon.com: Silicon Color Shapers/Brushes, 2

When you look on Amazon, they also have little pen like instruments that are used for applying Liquid Frisket, (They work like a Quill Pen) I got some Liquid Frisket & one of those pens on Amazon, but haven't tried them yet, "Incredible White Mask Liquid Frisket." Some turn yellow when using & others don't, to help you remember where you put it....

This is the one I bought in the 2 oz size. I had it in my hand at Hobby Lobby it was a bigger size but I was not sure this is what I was looking for. Came home looked at the blog I found the technique from. K werner. She was showing a jack o lantern stamp set from Colorado craft company any use liquid mask to do watercoloring in the background. What she used was a bit more expensive than what I wanted to spend for a first time go with this product.
I bought the stamp set, received it yesterday. Instead of sending my son back out to HB I have a knee brace on for ACL Ligament problem, I just let my fingers do the clicking on amazon and bought this with free shipping. should be delivered in a few days.

I haven't done this myself, but talked to another crafter who used liquid latex drop(s) onto 'eyeballs' of character images. she sponged all around the latex to get shading right up to the edge of eyes, then peeled off the latex. I never asked how long it takes to dry on the paper, but didn't sound like long time.
she then used red xtra fine marker to draw bloodshot lines into the white eyeball area kept clean by the latex. it was great effect
Is their any odor to this product and does it have a fine tip? I've been looking for some masking fluid for a while. One product I purchased I just couldn't stand the odor. It was terrible.
That is what I was looking for as I was watching her videos. What I bought was less expensive but it works great.

One thing to make sure is that the masking fluid is removable after it dries. There are at least 1 or 2 types that are permanent for whatever reason. I have tried the Winsor & Newton, but have found--no matter what I do--it peels the paper. :( I let it dry thoroughly after I apply it to dry paper, and after I finish painting, I let the piece air-dry thoroughly before attempting to remove the masking. Still, the paper peels. The only other thing I can think of is maybe humidity makes the paper stay slightly damp, even though it feels dry, and that's why the masking fluid messes things up. I'm not sure if I should hit the paper some with my heat tool, or what. I've used other masking fluids as well, with the same result. If anyone has any thoughts, I'm more than open to listening!
