I have 8,968.3 liquid adhesives  but 90+% of the time stick ;) with Ranger Multi Medium Matte. Dries clear, enough time to move stuff, holds tight, and with a fine tip applicator, easily put dots of adhesive under paper a corner or die cut bit is missed.

The adhesive remains in the bottle it came in and I swap to a needle top applicator - the type with the wire that inserts into the tip to clean it and stays inside when closed. (Not the main one Jennifer McGuire used for a long time, though I had tried it for a long time.) I use tips from Ranger and Scraperfect.

When done, I wipe the tip off (one second) and touch the insertion wire with a dot of stamp cleaner, then push it up and down a couple times. I don’t want to spend any more time than that.

I often keep it upside down in a glue holder made for that purpose, especially if the bottle less than half full.

First, I found this on Amazon still.

Second, I was watching a you-tube video the other day, and Scotch has just repackaged and renamed this formula of glue.

I use this glue! I used to get Scotch's Quick Dry Adhesive with a NICE FINE TIP built into the bottle!! LOVED IT! They got rid of that, but not before I bought out what I could at the local Walmart. LOL And now I've bought the Permanent Tacky Glue & replaced the tip with a ScraPerfect Tip as bjeans has described! NICE TIP! It actually offers two different types of tips in one cap! I LOVE Scotch Products!!!! Once I run out of my Scotch Perm. Mounting Tape, I am switching to a product from Uline, (Industrial foam tape) as Scotch has lost all sense & raised their prices! $50 a roll is a no-brainer! LOL But, Scotch products ARE THE BEST! ;)

Is the Scotch Permanent Tacky Glue above the same as the old Scotch's Quick Dry Adhesive, the one that came with the purple tip, red and purple label? I was sad when they discontinued that product, as it's so nice and thin and sets almost instantly with paper.

I think the Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive is the same as the Tacky Glue. I've not noticed it adhering any differently. It does dry just as quickly too. Like I said, I just trade out the tip with a ScraPerfect Tip & I'm all set! ;)

Am I doing something wrong or is it the dry climate I live in? Or is the stuff just not permanent?
Yes...Definitely....Rubber cement yellows and dries up and releases whatever you have glued. When I began cardmaking 12 years ago I used it because it is made for paper, and I wasn't on Splitcoaststampers to get all the good advice.
I ALWAYS recommend Zip Dry glue. It has some slip time, and if any gets out where it's not supposed to be you can roll it up to remove it. It is usually on really good sale at ScrapbookPal dot com, which offers free shipping over $25.

Thanks for your answer and advise. So what is the purpose of rubber cement?

Awesome, I'll have to start hunting to see if any of the local shops carry it, if not there's always online.

Rubber cement is meant for adhering things together that you might later need to take apart. We used it in high school art class a fair bit to attach paper matts to our work for display. There are some 'photo safe' variants on the market now but they're all rubber and prone to eventually drying out because of that.

I find that Zip Dry dries out before I even get halfway through the bottle, and the tip clogs like crazy. They have a "process" to clean out the tip, but it's too much work for me. I guess I'm lazy that way. Also, unless they've changed their formula, you need the strength of Hercules to squeeze the glue out of the bottle. The Scotch is great, whether it's the old Quick Dry or the new Tacky glue.

When I first started using Zip Dry I had problems with the tip drying quickly creating a clog. I think it was partly because I cut the tip with a Very small opening. (You can cut it whatever size you want). If you have trouble squeezing the bottle it's probably clogged. Honestly, for the last few years I have not had any problems with the tip clogging. I use it on most every card, so the bottle doesn't have time to dry up (which it used to do because I used double sided tape a lot).
I tried Best Glue Ever and (I think) Art Institute glues . They are very wet and warp the cardstock/paper.

Not what I wanted to hear, but thanks for the info. I have literally thousands of things glued into my technique books---many with very small pieces. I am overwhelmed thinking about redoing all of these pages!
