I've tried for the last few months to do a better job about including the layers and inks in my card descriptions for those who don't visit blogs. I'll remember to try even harder!
They are always listed on my blog samples.
You'll do great Shelley! Just remember to stamp the layers in reverse order with the darkest colors first working backwards to the lightest.
Wow, I have to say, the kitchen crew has dazzled us again with these wonderful peeks at the new stamps coming out from Kitchen Sink. The sheep are wow. I know working with white can be tricky and all of you did such cute things with it. And that lilac, I have to say, that is the one on my wish list.

Thank you so much ladies for your combination. I truly appreciate your help and recipes. You rock!
I do have one more question. Do you have trouble w/ SU ink beading up on the acrylic stamps? Does it get better after other inks (momento, etc.) have been used on the stamps? I guess I'll have to wait and see. Too bad that my patients level isn't very high. ;) Thanks again. Probably more questions once I get my order. Thanks again!
Oh man! I was just ready care for the stamps. I did'nt order any stamp cleaner with my order yesterday. Am I in trouble? I currently use a "homemade" recipe of water with a drop of dish detergent and a drop of glycerine. What should I do? Is this ok? Help me please...
Shelley, KS stamps are made of high quality photopolymer and take ink much better than most of the acrylic stamps you buy in the store.
That said, I do prefer Memento ink with my KS stamps. They take SU inks very well, but you are able to stamp off more times and get greater color variations with Memento inks.
You are not in trouble without any stamp cleaner. I usually just use water on a washcloth. Personally, I don't use StazOn on my KSS stamps because it will stain them.
I prefer for crisp clean blacks Memento Tuxedo Black and Versafine Onyx Black, both of which just wipe clean with no staining.
Thanks for the quick response! I did order some momento and some versafine (ones that I didn't already have) that I thought would work with the stamps that I ordered. We'll see. I didn't order the momento black as I already have the versafine. When you make choices about outside employment when raising kids at home, compromise and do without. I am anxious to recieve the order. Not sure what their turn around is. Glad that I won't ruin the stamps with the cleaner. Yay!
Kittens & Pup and Mixed Berries. Momento & versafine inks. Wanted to order the build a garland and honey bunny. But not possible. Steping out of my comfort zone as it is. I'm usually attracted to flowers, but I really liked the looks of these stamps. I also think that they would be useable for my kids. They stamp cards some too.
Another note on inks - you'll find some inks tend to bead up more than others. I've also found the weather can cause some inks to bead up - if that happens just stamp off on scratch paper then onto your project. You may have to do that twice in order to get the desired look you were after, but it will work just fine. I've also notices some of my new Distress Inks bead up, but once stamps absorb nicely onto my card stock.
Enjoy your stamps - looking forward to seeing your creations.
Thanks Lynn, I just had to ink them up when they arrived yesterday to get some ideas out of my head! Looking forward to seeing your creations with these fun new stamps!
I got to try out the Daisy set and now I definitely want one. We had a card swap this past Saturday and several very good things came from it.
1. I had the pleasure of meeting Lynn!
2. She had brought the daisy set for her sample. What fun!
3. I also had the pleasure of meeting another 20 or so gals from SCS.
Hi, Billie Dee! I don't think I got to stamp at the table with you a single time Saturday!! Seems like I was always calling across the room to talk with you! We'll have to make sure that doesn't happen in April!!
I've got a little pull with the boss lady!! LOL! Anita is my niece.
So glad that you feel more comfortable with your stamps now. Bring any that are still giving you trouble to Brazoria, and I will show you what works for me.
Loved making your easel card with the double silhouette!! You did just enough pre-work on it that it could be finished in 10 minutes! Thank you for that!! It's a beautiful card!
I am sincerely hoping that the Blue Plate Special has the Daisy set and the fruit set before the April swap .... The special today was great! But I have most of those already *blush*
Okay, all you gals out there with your Kitchen Sink stamps better get them inked up and entered in the March challenge. Not many have entered and there are prizes to be won unless you want me to win all of them. I hope to get a few more done to increase my chances. Masking is a fun technique to do with KSS.

Great to see you playing each week Liz - gotta love multiple entries, increases your chances of winning! I'm hoping to get around to checking all the entries later this week, it's been a busy few weeks around here, and haven't made it over to check them out.
Hi, Billie Dee!! I'm so glad that you are enjoying your hydrangea!! Your card is wonderful! Thank you for entering it in the Crew Challenge this month!!
I just used the hydrangea yesterday for my Mother's Day card!! There are so many gorgeous color combinations for it!!
Thanks for bumping this thread to the top!! You know how we love to talk KSS!!
Okay, lots of entries this month for the challenge and I've been checking to see if the winners have been announced yet.

I've had some requests for some tips on color and lining up the hydrangea.
This is what works for me. Start with Layer 3 where you can clearly see the centers of the blossoms I have marked in red. These are what I use as my focal points to line up the next layer. I then stamp Layer 4. Then 2. Then 1.
Here are the colors and steps I use to create purple and pomegranate hydrangeas:
Pretty color combinations Lynn! I usually start with image #3 too when stamping with most KSS images, I've found it much easier. Then I move to image #2, #1 and last #4, when using a 4 step image.
For those following this thread, and might have missed them, I've been doing Videos with my KSS Monday postings, you can see them here . I hope it helps those of you using KSS images, or those who've wondered how to get started using them.
Thanks, Billie Dee, for visiting my blog today and leaving such a sweet comment!! I hope I can get to the Houston Shoebox Swap in June! Don't know for sure just yet!
Hi Lynn~
thanks so much for this help. I can't practice tonight and I have Bible study tomorrow night, but you can bet that I will work on this this w/e. I've just been trying to get my stamps marked right now.
Thanks again.
Hugs,
Karen
