Default Kissing

(at least I think that is what it is called - when you stamp an image onto another stamp and then stamp THAT onto cardstock to reverse the image?)

Does anyone now of a plain, big stamp that is good for this? I don't recall seeing one in the SU IBC. I am oversees, so Michael's/AC Moore/Hobby Lobby are not options. Does anyone know of an online retailer who sells a good one? Hopefully they will ship to APO addresses. A LOT of people do not.

Thanks in dvance for you help everyone! Happy 2007!!

I have used a larger shadow stamp from Hero Arts to make "kissed" backgrounds before. You could probably find one on Addictedtorubberstamps.com. Also, I've seen some nice samples of "kissed" cards in the gallery using the big flower stamp from the Winter Mini. Good luck!

If you'll visit our "Resources" page, located along the upper most right menu bar, in between "forums" and "store", you'll find a wonderful selection of technique and project tutorials, and among them:

Kissing.

And, a variety of stamp companies make large expansive rubber images, frequently referred to as "shadow", "palette", or "reverse image" stamps, etc. for use in this method.

"Kissing" and "Palette" stamping are each basically a variation of the other, and the terms used interchangeably.

HTH, ;)

I like using the canvas background for this technique, but any textured background would work. It's fun - good luck!

The new Sell-A-Bration catalog has an awesome Big Blossom stamp that is great for the kissing technique...I enjoy using the SU Paisley background for kissing it to.

Good Luck!

BTW, to the OP: You might try searching at www.addictedtorubberstamps.com

I don't know if they ship overseas to APO, but it'd be worth looking into at their site/web store.

The "Mirror Image Stamp" (reverse image) that I bought at Michael's is made by Rubber Stampede, Inc. It is solid rubber mounted onto a wood block. The rubber itself measures 2 1/2" x 4". Theres complete inst. on the front to reverse an image: Clean surfce of this stamp, ink other stamp and stamp it out onto the rubber of this stamp. Stamp this stamp onto your paper. Lift as you would do other stamps, and viola! At the bottom, it shows 2 cows, 1 reversed. I dunno if they have a website but they're located in Berkeley, CA.
HTH!!! Stormy
Oh, I've read on here where ppl have used acetate as an image stamp.. but I haven't tried it.

It's not that big, but I like using any background stamp to kiss onto Cool cat (or even using the flowers repeatedly on the cat is cute.)

Do you know the dimensions of this one? I am looking for something BIG that isn't shaped like Big Blossom. The APO situation is still an issue. No luck on ebay either. Thanks!
