Interesting topic!

If there's one thing I've learned, it's that you can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please everybody all of the time. *chuckle* ;)

Knowing how much time, energy and skill it takes to produce a tutorial or other type of "how-to", whether it's a pictorial & text PDF, or a video, or a combination thereof, I just appreciate it.

My own videos are fast-motion, set to happy music, because that's the type I personally enjoy watching most. But, if someone doesn't like it, that's OK! It's all good, because there's something out there for every taste and desire!

To all of you that so graciously share your time and your talent: Thank you!

I love tutorials of any kind. I could watch them all day. Wish I could find more of them. I admit when they have music I always turn it off but it doesn't bother me to have to do that. When I open a blog and music starts I usually jump! lol Thank you to everyone that takes the time to do any kind of tutorials. I appreciate it and spend too much time watching when I should be stamping!!

Music is such a personal taste it really is difficult to please everyone with the choice. I respect those that do videos because I always seem to get a vocal tremor when I record anything so have never posted (though I am certain that each of us are our own worst critics).

Thanks for all those who put themselves out there to help us learn. I appreciate a variety of approaches.

and for those that requested this -

I'm in the "I have no preference" boat.

Tutorials of any kind take time. I'm just thankful that so many people do them. I'll take them happily however someone wants to do them.

I like both because I know some people are better at explaining verbally and some just aren't. If a person isn't good at explaining, it'll be better to have music so they don't confuse me. lol... In that sense I think the people who take the time to do these videos should do it whichever way they feel comfortable.

I must add that I love video tutorials! I don't work well the written and still picture type of instructions so I am super grateful to everyone who takes the time to do a video. I've learnt some amazing things through videos!

I can't agree more. I am such a visual learner. However I have stopped watching tutorials with TVs on, especially sport games or music in the background as well as talking, I find background noise very distracting. One video has someone in the next room talking on a phone through the whole tutorial.

Gina -- I owe you a big thank you because your Janome Sew Mini tutes saved my sanity-what little sanity I have left LOL! I was trying to sew on a card late at night, probably too tired and should have been in bed. I couldn't figure out how to thread the darn thing no matter what I tried.

I googled and your tutorials came up. I heaved a sigh of relief :-)

And I agree, Bugga -- I am VERY thankful for whatever kind of tutorial people are willing to share. Tutorials are a lot of work!
