or does Soft Suede look like something I would have found in my kids diapers?
I went to a workshop last night and used it for the first time. Thought it would be a soft suede brown color, but instead it is this dark olivey (is that a word?) brown that reminds me of when I had babies. They used it with Marina Mist and it just looked bland. Cute card but the color... not so much.
Is there a 'good' color to use with it or do I just ignore it. What do you think?

LOL! Well, I only buy colors I love/gravitate towards because I know I'll use 'em, and it's easy and fun for me to use things I love, vs. things I don't. ;)
That said, sometimes, if I just wait, and watch what others do with it, a color can grow on me. And, it's at that point that I'm ready to invest in it.

Not only you! Having worked in a nursery for many years, that was my first thought when I saw it too. I do have a few sheets from the mixed In Color package I bought but just can't bring myself to use it. Since I'd never send a card to my worst enemy, I'm stuck with it. May use it for a swap. I have seen it used well with the curry colour from last year too , however that's another color I don't miss, just wish they'd sent soft suede packing with it. Those are the first two colors I've felt that way about.
I thought the SAME thing when I first saw the colour. It's still not my favorite colour in the world but I do have a few samples in my gallery that use that colour!
I call it "Baby Poop Green". It was my first thought when I got it last year. I actually have used it a lot. It goes nicely with real red for Christmas cards.
I love the soft suede. I use it mostly with red for Christmas cards and the two colors of real red and soft suede go very well together........you may want to try it.

I thought I'd like SS better, but I'm not a big fan either! I don't see the greenish tint, but it's too blaaaa for me. I've never bought it, but I've used it at workshops. It might look good with blue or pink. I love ch. chip and those colors together.
That said, I love the new Early Espresso, but it's close enough to Ch. Chip that I may not invest in it. It looks fantastic with Cherry Cobbler.

So it's one of my favorite colors and was so happy to see it back....maybe I like baby poo, lol! So funny to see how everyone is different. Like I said, I really like it and I use it a lot. I love it for sponging edges and distressing stuff. It looks great with riding hood red or cherry cobbler. I also like it with baja breeze or rich razzleberry. The reds plus always artichoke make for a good Christmas combo too. It's kind of a vintage color I think and I'm totally into the vintage look so maybe that's why I like it:-) Maybe it will grow on you:-)

I have always thought it looked like baby poo, too! So glad someone agrees with me. There are much prettier browns out there than this one. Of course, that is just my humble opinion.
Might be great for those "Poo happens" cards! I don't have this color cardstock, but this week I've been trying paint samples for my bathroom renovation. I was going for a beigey-tan color, and got something quite like POO! This is NOT something I want to have on my bathroom walls or my cards, LOL.

Too funny! Sounds like something I would do.
Thanks for the input everyone, good to know I am not the only one. The samples posted are great. It seems to play well with others but isn't that great on its own. Still not sure I will get it, maybe when all my Close to Cocoa is gone...

Funny...I really like that color. I normally don't buy in-colors, but after using that one at my demo's house, I had to have it. Don't use the paper much, but love the ink. It seems to have more tone or depth to me than the other browns.
I like SS more than I did Close to Cocoa, but I wish SU would add a brown with a slight reddish tinge. I had some brown paper like that long ago and I loved it. That said, I don't want it to replace Chocolate Chip.
I tend to start with sahara sand in the middle, add a bit of more mustard, then around the edges do quite a bit of close to cocoa, and then last I use Soft Suede. If the paper is dark, then I add chocolate chip.
